| | The 4C’s that should be considered while buying loose diamond are:
1. Color - Color decides the amount of yellow touch in the diamond.
2. Cut - Cut determines how the light is refracted from the diamond.
3. Clarity - Clarity determines the impurities or flaws in the diamond.
4. Carat - Carat is the weight of the diamond. |

| | Re Diamonds and the 4 C's | | My philosophy is this: If you can't play music on it, watch a video on it or run programs on it, what good is it? I have no use for jewelery and trinkets. My wife and I don't even wear a wedding band or wedding rings. It's just our personal preference. I find diamonds and gold worthless. |

| | Re Diamonds and the 4 C's | | Well I was going to put a picture of a chainmail thong here and say that "while Lynn is not making chainmail thongs, someone out there is..."
but google images found some very dirty pics for me.
So instead, I'll link to something a little more tame: ThinkGeek :: Chain Mail Shirt
Why couldn't I find a picture of a thong like that, you know, without someone in it... |

| | Re Diamonds and the 4 C's | | LOL. Chainmaile doesn't fit into my category of uselessness. It has (or had) a purpose. Jewelry's only purpose is a fashion statement (sorta like Paris Hilton). Rings are also dangerous in some professions, such as an electrician. I couldn't wear a ring or metal watchband in my work. It was a good thing that I didn't believe in them in the first place. My watch is an 8 dollar one with a Velcro band from Walmart. I'm certainly not trying to convince anyone to believe the way I do; I'm just stating my opinion about trinkets and baubles.
I'm not sure how we got to "chainmaile thongs", but it's a fun thought. |

And you are dead on with jewelry of any kind not having a place in many professions...my husband has never worn his wedding ring (other than on our wedding day) for that very reason.
Uh, but please don't compare me (or my profession) to Paris Hilton. I'm way better than that twit. Of course, she's gaining new respect now that she has an energy policy........... Quote:

Just wait until we get into crochet thongs. | Just make sure it is something in a . . .'softer' yarn. Not that 'jute' stuff or whatever it was someone (wormie, right..?? my memory fails me...) was talking about elsewhere recently. All the Gold Bond Powder in the world might not fix that problem...
...tom...

| | Re Diamonds and the 4 C's | | DH has threatened to make some chainmail, uh, goodies for me in the past. I think I managed to talk him out of it, he hasn't mentioned it in a long while.
I think I'll stick with his earrings, TYVM. Or Lynn's clever bracelet.

| | Re Diamonds and the 4 C's | | I'm crocheting with some really soft lovely cotton now. It's machine washable and dryable. It would probably make a really comfy thong! I'm working on a baby sweater now, but if any of you guys would like a comfy cotton thong, I'm glad to try to make one for you! |
