| | I stopped in an electronics store to buy a replacement mouse tonight and they were unpacking Nintendo Wii systems. Since I haven't seen them anywhere else, I bought one for Shane for Christmas, plus a sports pack and remote charger. Does anyone have one of these? What games would you recommend? Any other accessories that would be good?

| | I have it! I love the wii fit.
That's all I have is Wii Sports, and I borrow the Fit. Oh, and buy the Wii Play, which has additional games and another wiimote. He'll want another wiimote to play with people anyway. |

| | Thanks! His birthday is in January, so I'll give him the Wii Fit then. I'll pick up the Wii Play for a stocking stuffer.

| | We have it. My husband loves the golf games, and so does my son. They have the sports "attachments", but they aren't overly impressed. My guys like the sports games that they can use their own "Mi". Not the "names" games as they put it.
We also have Mario Kart. It is a lot of fun. I was playing it a lot last summer.
I think the "Summer Sports" is the latest one they got--and when my son is home it is nice, they stay up late playing.
We got the Wii last summer, as a birthday gift for both of the kids. Marissa LOVES Guitar Hero. She has 3 of them. We also have 2 guitars, but they are hers. Seems Guitar Hero is the new Karaoke around here.

Guitar Hero is a lot of fun too.

| | Um... thinking. Excite Truck is one we love. We like Rock Band better than Guitar Hero, but it's $$. Madden is AWESOME on Wii. |

| | He has Guitar Hero for his X-Box and he loves it. Should I get it for his Wii too? Or Rock Band? If I give him the Wii for Christmas, I can do the other for January. Either a music application or Wii Fit, but not both. I'm not that good a mommy.

| | I've played Guitar Hero, and I love it, but Wii Fit is better in my mind. I'm doing something "healthy" rather than pressing a button over and over. But you know your son better than any of us. |

| | Ah. Guitar Hero for Xbox isn't any different on Wii. Same with Rock Band. |

| | I think, he would like Guitar Hero better. The newest one has some really good music on it. The guitar is cool--having kids that are 20 somethings, and their friends etc, I think he might like Guitar Hero more. They prefer Guitar Hero because they can play it alone--they don't need to have a bunch of people around. And storing all the band stuff can be tricky.
My perspective on Wii Fit is purely from a female point of view--it is great, but my daughter and her friends like it--my son and his friends like the sports games or Guitar Hero.

| | Metroid Prime 3 Corruption was pretty awesome if he likes that kind of game. Space shoot-em up.
Mario Kart is just plain fun. And I loved Super Mario Galaxy. |

| | Thanks JP. I ordered Mario Kart and an extra steering wheel so that he can compete with his friends. He'll get the Wii Fit for his birthday along with a Shaun White snowboarding game. He doesn't know he's getting it but I know he wants a Wii, so it will be a nice surprise for him.
