Forum Contract - For Future Reference | | 1. I understand I am entering a debate forum in which conversation may become heated.
2. I agree to not flame my fellow members. I will not resort to name-calling.
3. I will behave like an adult and discuss topics maturely.
4. I understand this is not a news clipping service. I will only post links to other web pages if I have a comment to make about it that will foster discussion.
5. I understand the users of the symposium are responsible for policing ourselves. If I see a post that violates the rules of the forum, I will report it using the report a post link in the upper right corner of every post.
6. I will reply to the forum not to the sender of the message - messages to a discussion forum are intended for public discussion. I should always reply to the forum unless I have something personal and private to say to the sender [in which case I can send a PM].
7. If we, the users, refuse to adhere to the rules of this forum, we understand the admins reserve the right to shut it down in its entirety and without notice if it gets out of control. Having a self-policed forum does not mean that the rules don't apply. They do. The admins still expect us to be civil and mature and will take steps to enforce these expectations.
8. If I violate any of the forum rules, I will receive a warning, which will be stored on my user profile and which will be visible to the admins of this site. After 2 warnings, I will lose the right to use the symposium for one month. If, after being let back in to the forum, I receive yet another warning, I will be banned permanantly from this forum.
