How's everyone here celebrating the anniversary of our great victory?

Yes, it was glorious so how are you all celebrating today? Backyard barbeques with the neighbors?

Loyalty Day? Loyalty Day? I checked the URL to see if I was on The Onion or a similar site. This is starting to seem like a parody of Orwell.

P.S. What do you think is the significance of setting this up for May 1, the old communist May Day? Are we back to fighting the cold war again (if only with competing holidays)?

Not a new holiday - been around since 1921, so you can't blame Bush for that one.

It's also Law Day, go figure. So much to celebrate, so little time.

But, hey, my guess above, about the significance of the May 1 date, was right (sort of)! -->

Quote:
President Dwight Eisenhower established May 1 as Law Day to co-opt the biggest day on the socialist calendar.

Someone better tell Hallmark--this could go over really big. So is it Law Day, or Loyalty Day? Loyalty Day puts me in mind of Joe McCarthy, somehow.
