Good news: I learned about this from the NYTimes this morning.
Bad news: It was a tiny article buried in the Science section, while the rest of the McCain/Obama coverage were mostly horserace-reporting stories in the National section :-/
Anyway, the responses are interesting, and I would have put this in the Science subforum but that would have just made more work for the mods.

I'm encouraged that McCain is for embryonic stem cell research and promises to support funding for that research. It's one of the few ways he differs from the Bush administration.
BTW - are there still any global warming deniers out there? It seems that even Republicans are on the bandwagon with carbon emissions. What changed everybody's mind? Was there new evidence, or was the old evidence finally too difficult to ignore?

I just registered for a STEM conference at the end of October. It'll be interesting to see if I can get people's reactions to the different education policies. I'll report back if I hear anything worth repeating.
