| | Church of England to Darwin: All right, all right, we apologise. | | We're really really sorry, we apologise unreservedly. We offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was in no way a fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice, and we deeply regret any distress that our comments may have caused you, or your family, and we hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future. The Catholic Church, on the other hand, has decided that, although their initial negative reaction to Darwin's theories were hasty and ill-considered, the fact that a) evolution has been declared compatible with Catholicism since the 1950's, and b) the man is DEAD, means that no apology is actually necessary.

| | Re Church of England to Darwin: All right, all right, we apologise. | | Unless you've accused Darwin of not being able to use the Internet. Then an apology is in order
