Goodbye, Carly Fiorina

I don't know if you caught this yesterday, but Carly Fiorina (while in the middle of attacking Barack Obama) let it slip that she didn't think Sarah Palin could run a major corporation (like HP, the corporation Fiorina ran).

When she was later given a chance to clarify, she admitted that she didn't think McCain could run HP either.

Oops.

Sure, she threw in an obligatory swipe at the opposition, but when one of your top advisors/surrogates expresses her opinion that your ticket couldn't run a corporation but should be entrusted with the entire country, people take notice. Especially on a day when the financial markets are in turmoil, and that's your backdrop.

Ms. Fiorina's near future scheduled appearances are cancelled. This is bad. Fiorina is much more convincing than some of McCain's other surrogates. Although it's not the first time she was a little too frank with the press:

And I still don't think we've got an answer from McCain why insurance companies are keen to manufacture "ready to go" old fogies but not help their dance partners from getting pregnant.
