Poor MJ, I hope it's ok tomorrow. But, how is Dino doing? How long does he have to be on his meds?

Dino's got to be on these killer meds for 6 weeks. So far it's been two weeks and boy, is his gut rocking. He just used the litterbox and I need a gasmask Hide

Meanwhile, just checked my finger and no red spot, no puffiness, no ooze, no nuthin' - can't even see where the bite IS! Guess I flushed all the bad germs out when I kept squeezing out blood Big Grin

Eh, the pill slipped and got all icky and as he was squirming and I was wiggling and moving the pill around with my finger, he got me. He was trying to clamp his mouth shut to keep out the pill, not trying to clamp down on Mommy's hand Wink

Can you give him plain yogourt? We give it to Moo whenever he has to take antibiotics, and it helps with that. He gets a spoon of plain yogurt with a fishoil capsule drizzled over it to make him want to eat it.

Glad that it healed up without the need to see a doctor.

There is just something really wrong with that statement.

Rex gets peanut butter on a spoon if he won't take a pill. Of course, we won't even talk about my friend Cathy who was dog sitting and feeding him food once piece at a time from a fork because he wouldn't eat. :shake:

Forgot to tell you guys that shortly after this, Astro started his downward decline and needed meds... and he got me, with his ONE tooth in the back. Nothing happened though.

But I'm resurrecting the thread because Fredo must have heard from Dino and Princess about what fun it is to give Mommy puncture wounds. His was with a back claw, on the back of my hand. The area is a little bit swollen and tender, but no pus-filled wound, just a teeny dot. Now here's my problem: it's the same arm I got the flu shot in. I can't tell if my arm is still sore for the shot or if it's getting sore from the wound. Lymph nodes aren't swollen though and the wound area itself is only a little swollen and lightly pink.

Oy.
What Lynn said. If the would itself doesn't seem infected wait a few days. If the puncture looks weird, go in right away.

I disagree with Lynn and Delia. I have had NO soreness at all from either flu shot, so I am suspicious that it's related to the puncture wound. Swollen and tender from a CAT puncture wound is potentially a VERY BAD THING. You know this already. If you have an urgent care available, you should be seen today unless that hand is looking much better.

Glad you had no soreness from the flu shot, but I did, so the soreness isn't new, it's just hard for me to determine if it changed.

Area still sore but the swelling is down. No fever, no red lines, no pus, no swollen lymph glands in that armpit. I'm wondering if it got as swollen as it did yesterday because it's right over the ligaments for my ring and pinky fingers, because after I'd been using my finders for a while the area was markedly sore.

If the swelling is down, then it sounds like it's going in the right direction.

Yes, it seems that way Smile the swelling is less than yesterday, it doesn't hurt when I use the hand, the arm feels better... seems like I dodged *that* bullet! good thing too, I'm going to be in the car for 6+ hours tomorrow.
