No fair putting multiple choice buttons on question #3 when there was only one right answer! I actually knew that one, but guessed on a second choice because I figured there had to be more than one.
Well, that was awful.

I only got one right and that is because my name is a derivative of it.
I almost answered the first one with my own name even though I knew it wasn't right, because I thought you might have read some incorrect source material. Long ago, when reading Greco-Roman mythology, I read that Demeter took on another name during the winter months while mourning her daughter - Melanos. I only read it that one time, and have never been able to confirm it since. But when I saw the Artemis question, I thought perhaps you had read something I hadn't come across yet.
Oops... I need to not have two windows open.

Sorry... I actually edited it because it was too easy the first way I wrote it. EVERYONE would have had a 100. So I edited. Big Grin

Melanie, I'd never seen that! There are a lot of names with debated meanings, though... Beanie's middle name is Miriam, which usually means "from the well" but I found a couple of places that listed it as "wished for child" which is how she ended up with it.

[Quiz]Name Meanings
Well, the *meaning* of my name isn't debated as far as I know, just the origin of why it means that. Every name meaning thing I've ever seen has the same meaning for my name, except for maybe those little name meaning cards you can find in places like bookstores and Bible bookstores - I forget what they usually have down for it on the Bible bookstore ones, but it's usually different because they want the names to reflect goodness and Biblical qualities, etc. I guess.

Ah! That could be! If you look in a Christian bookstore for my name, it will say it means "Light" or "The Lord is my Light" Apparently they only try to wrangle it one step up. Big Grin

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

[Quiz]Name Meanings
I'm huge into name meanings. Big Grin HUGE. Every one of the kids had the meanings of their names searched unto death when I picked them. You should have heard the deacon who baptized Bug when I explained that even though it is no longer required, yes, his oddish name IS a saint's name, and then I related to him how it was the family name of St. Aidan of the Ferns.

The only one who carries no family name is Buster, just because I LOVED his name and it fits him perfectly. G wanted Tristan for his name, but I couldn't bear naming a child "sorrowful" and it would have never fit his personality.

Sometimes, when the world is changing rapidly, the greater risk is caution.
