How did this Keebler Elf become so powerful?

I thought we might actually get something through on a healthcare bill. Now we're, IMHO, looking at a pile of crap. How does Lieberman get the power to hold the legislation hostage?

And this man was a democratic candidate for VP! I don't mind people changing tickets, but this man doesn't seem to know what he wants beyond keeping his name in the headlines.

He wants to be a spoiler to increase his power.

And I'm stuck with him in my state. He's always been a whiner and just an all around asshole.

Last night on the news they played video of him saying he supported the plan, and then he came up with about 5 minutes of rhetoric and bullshit saying he must have been talking about a past time, when he was up for nomination for VP. Yeah... that video was like 6 months old. I really wish they'd send him to his own island.

He's not a democrat. He hasn't been since he lost VP. He turned republican after that, but he's a republican in sheep's clothing.

I just don't understand why he's so powerful now.

The Dems did a good job messing this one up. They should have fought for the bill instead of for bypartisanship. Now we have nothing.

Michael Moore is proposing a boycott of my state, unless we recall the Senator.

I don't think I've ever been to your state - well except for a couple hours for a funeral once. Not that I'm boycotting it or anything.

I suppose you could say "I won't shop in CT, so I won't be paying their sales tax!"

I suppose you could say "I won't buy Pez," "I won't buy Pratt & Whitney airplanes," "I won't buy submarines from Electric Boat," "I won't buy Sikorsky helicopters," and "I won't buy Foxon Park soda." Those are all CT businesses, so I suppose you could boycott the state by not supporting CT companies. If CT companies hurt, they might lay off employees, which hurts the state. If the companies make less profits, they pay less taxes too. If they go out of business, it could really hurt the state.

But since none of these things seem terribly effective, I think if you're Michael Moore, you make a big baseless statement to draw attention to the issue with no plan to actually follow-through.

Boycotting CT seems like trying to blackmail the people of a state because we don't like the actions of one elected official. I suspect a lot of people in CT are waiting for JL's term to be completed so that they can get a change.
In fairness, while I'm so annoyed with Joe and his sudden power, there are a lot of democrats in the Senate that have failed. They fought for bypartisanship instead of for the bill. When it was clear that there was not going to be agreement in the Senate, they should have fought for the bill and pushed it through.

Michael Moore is such a legend in his own mind.....that he hasn't noticed that most of the nation are boycotting him and his self-centered egotism.

Well, I'm planning a massive conference in CT, so I won't be boycotting your state...
