So I put in my contact lenses and noticed vision in my left eye didn't seem 100% clear.

Separately, I noticed that I was feeling sort of headachy today.

Took me until JUSTNOW to realize "duh, it's a migraine."

I bought a cool lamp from this gal today at a craft show. Most of the stuff at the craft show was meh, granny-crafts, but there were one or two who really had some neat stuff!!

I've got water coming in one of the walls of the condo, but it's manageable. The top floor's got it much worse - it's raining in a hallway up there.

Used one of my birthday present gift certificates to go out to eat tonight after mass. Rainy outside but not snowy so it was all enjoyable.

You eat fish, Worm? I'm surprised.

I was going to make Isreali couscous tonight with squash and spinach, but I didn't feel well enough. I had a chicken finger on a brioche with some pineapple on the side, lol. It worked, and I didn't have to cook Smile

DH's netbook died today. Power went out while we were gone, and even though it was "sleeping", the hard drive (solid state hard drive) went kaput. Sad Poor guy isn't having much luck - it's his car that died, now his computer.

RE: Random thoughts thread.
I try to eat salmon occasionally, just a bite is all I can usually get down. I wish I could like fish, but the thought of them is ooky to me, I guess cause we didn't eat them in my house growing up. Except tuna... but I ordered a tuna sandwich in a diner once and it came with celery in it Wtf then I could never stomach tuna again.

Fish is something I wish I could get over the psychological ookyness of it... unlike lamb or deer where the thought is just so revolting that I wouldn't ever want to get over it and try it.

The fish in the mess hall is always so dry that I haven't eaten much this year, though they do have tuna on the salad bar and tuna salad on the sandwich bar every day.

I just want to stay in my CHU and watch Ally McBeal on DVD. But I have too much work to do.

Some jerk just tried to hoax my kid on chat by pretending to be a MS employee and scaring him half to death. Mad He handled it well, though, and got me when he thought he was getting in trouble.

Why do some people have to just sit around making trouble? Mad

RE: Random thoughts thread.
Not looking forward to the coming week:

Mon:
0900 brief
sneaking out at 0915 for 0930 teleconference (sexual assault review board)
1500 meeting with subordinate personnel officers
1700 sexual assault review board for the installation

Tues:
1130 brief

Wed:
2-hour brief for commanders' course
leave for Basrah and the sustainment conference

Saturday (maybe late Friday):
return from Basrah

The "good" thing about being in Basrah is that I'll miss at least three meetings.

Am I actually supposed to get work done? Ever?

Thanks on the lamp...Dan thinks it would be better suited to the man cave, it's too "cabinish" for the living room. What.Ever. Not happening.

She uses natural materials, presses them into the slab of clay before forming them into vases, plates, lamps, etc., Sometimes the organic matter stays in the clay (she said she tries to pull it out before firing) but then it just burns off.

Thank you, Delia. Sometimes my job can be very frustrating. I'm just so depressed and frustrated about the student placements (a get even move from the principal that left in hopes the new one fails...at my team's expense and the expense of education for the kids) and the kids themselves and their parents. It's a grueling year...so bad that I'm too tired to even give details. Maybe later when I'm feeling less hopeless.

Dan Gookin, the guy who wrote the first "For Dummies" books, made Sean's day today. He ran for city council last year where he lives (didn't win) and had a bunch of his yard signs left over. Sean reads his site/blog, and asked if he could have one of the signs. Mr. Gookin autographed it and mailed it to Sean, and it came today. Big Grin Wasn't that just the nicest thing? Big Grin

Free corned beef and cabbage at the local pub. It was very good, and we had some beer and excellent conversation as well.

I met my husband 24 years ago on a pub crawl on St. Patrick's Day. We spent some time reminiscing about funny things that have happened over the years. Love
