| | So - when you meet somebody new, do you:
- Trust them until they give you a reason not to
or
- Not trust them until they do something to earn your trust? |

| | I start out with a blank slate, neither trusting nor distrusting.
Then I wait for the scales to tip in one direction or another based on the other person's actions.
But, woe unto he or she who proves to be untrustworthy. Don't hand live ammunition to a Scorpio.

Translation:
He trusts his intuition to give him an accurate first impression. Sometimes his intuition tells him that someone is not a good person. When that happens he hopes that he misjudged. But, alas, his first impressions are dead on.
So how did I do, Uno? Should I publish an Uno/English - English/Uno dictionary?

| | I'm still thinking about the over the desktop thing and Mr. TaurusMoon's reaction.
Trust.
I trust. (Yes, I do, Sara). What I don't do is give many second chances and there are never third chances.
But I start out trying to give the person the benefit of the doubt and trusting them. The only exception is if someone who has already earned a great deal of my trust (say, one of you) tells me that I should not trust the new person. I would probably use their recommendation. |

I thought not to say nothing, but you have not understood what I meant, mine is guilt, i am not able to express to me in english, but I do not want to cause problems. I still try....
It was a play on words in order to say, "if you had a efficient dictionary as it is good to understand Taurus my English orribile.
All here..... i am sad that it has been understood badly, because to joke goes well, but on sure arguments it is best to be clear, I do not want that nobody is badly.
You excuse to me |

Actually, he couldn't stop laughing.
He appreciates a good mangling of the language as much as the rest of us. More so if it's unintentional.
No offense taken, Uno.
He did have some trouble getting in the forum though. When he clicks on the link to join, he gets a blank window. I wonder if that's happening to other people too?

| | Oh Uno!
I'm sorry, but now I'm REALLY laughing out loud!
We all knew exactly what you meant. We were just having fun with you. And now I have to apologize for making you self conscious!
Even those of us without a language challenge make similar comments and everybody laughs.
As a general rule - if anyone is offended - you WILL know in no uncertain terms. We knew exactly what you meant and found the translation extremely funny.
So - now - what are you saying? You really DON'T want Sara over your desktop? Somehow saying that is much more offensive! |

| | You girls quit picking on uno It's not often we get witty men around here and I don't want to lose this one.
With regards to the original question, I am pretty naive I guess. I tend to trust people until they give me reason not to, with some exceptions. I seldom trust women in high heels.
