And no, it wasn't for Best Unsupported Presenter (Gwyneth Paltrow won that one...er, hands down this year).
I won the Anchorage Daily News Oscar Prediction Contest this year (after five years of unsuccessfully guessing who Hollywood thinks deserves the little gold statues). I think I correctly guessed 6 out of 8 of the top categories (drat that upset winner, Halle Berry!).
My prizes:
A trip for two to Hollywood (airfare, accommodations, $250 spending money)
Passes to Universal Studios
An autographed Oscar poster: 
A couple of T-shirts
A Magic 8 Ball (for predicting next year's winners, I think)
This will make a very nice "coming home" getaway vacation for Jean and me next autumn. |
