This tiresome habit of starting the season with a manager and canning him after a dozen or two games is getting slightly annoying. I can see the situation occurring once - especially with a new manager - but the pressure is constant.

Ah, but Bud's assistant said yesterday that DC will undoubtedly get the next franchise once they finish with contraction and labor negotiations. Would someone explain to me why one contracts and then expands? Doesn't it make more sense to move an existing team?
