This next week in the NL West is as good as spring baseball gets.
The division leading Diamondbacks are on a ten day/ten game swing through California. Yesterday they finished a three-game stand in LA, winning the series 2-1, and today they start a four game series against the Giants at PacBell. The road trip then wraps up with three more games in LA.
Again, it is only May, but these series could have playoff implications in September. You don't want to be four or five games out of first against any of these three teams even in May. But that could happen-or next weekend we could be looking at a three-way tie for first.
