The struggling Rams, who came into this thing thinking they actually had a shot at the mighty Utes, never were in the game as the crafty and cunning Smith and their own bumbling turned them every way but loose in a 63-31 blowout that wasn't actually that close.
At least the Rams put up 31 against a BCS team, Michael. The Buffs took a beating from Oklahoma that their grandchildren are going to feel. You had to enjoy that.
Of course. The Rams lost to TWO BCS teams this year - Utah and USC. Both drubbings, but no worse, really, than any other team to go against them.
Other than the fact that they were hopelessly outmatched (this was not a good Rams team this year), I call it a PR coup for them to pull the USC matchup.
