I am going to make some wrapping paper too.
It is quite a lot of fun
Here is an example of the cards.

In today's world of computer-generated cards, a hand-crafted card like that will surely be treasured. |

Very beautiful. I felt creative when I "created" cards on a computer program. (Someone else put most of the creativity together, I just had to click.)
I am hoping my daughter will help me be more creative and fun when she gets a smidge older!

| | Re:(1)Making my own cards and tags. | | I just signed up to have a booth at the local bridal show in a couple of weeks. I'll have samples of wedding invitations, thank you notes, shower invites ... and anything else I can think of. I am an official Stampin' Up! demonstrator (ie. I bought the kit to sell/make the cards and supplies) so I'll be trying to arrange home workshops for people to make their own cards and I'll be trying to get orders for sets of cards made by me.
I'm getting excited
.... now all I have to do is make the cards, design the booth, order the stock, schedule the classes ....

| | Re:(1)Making my own cards and tags. | | Yeah you!!!
You're so tallented. I'm very excited for you!
So - are you selling the kits for brides to make their own, or are you selling your services to make the cards for them.
Either way - good luck. I think this could be a really exciting thing.
When I went to a wedding recently, the bride and her mom did a lot! They did their bridal program and they hand made the place cards with a color code so that the caterer would know who got chicken and who got prime rib. I think that do it yourselfers could find a lot of fun ways to use stamping for invites, thank yous, place cards, programs, etc etc
Let us know how it goes!! |

| | Re:(1)Making my own cards and tags. | | Hey. As long as I'm on an idea roll.....
If you havent' already thought of it, make up a sample or two of those photo holder cards. You know, the paper frames that they can stick their wedding pic and mail out as thank you's. You can stamp the bride and groom's name and wedding date on the outside and "thank you for sharing our day" or some other corny message on the inside.

So what are you going to do for your booth? Do you have a full 10 by 10 booth or a table? Or some other odd measurements?

So what are you going to do for your booth? Do you have a full 10 by 10 booth or a table? Or some other odd measurements? | The area is 8'x8' and I had a choice of an 8' or 6' table. I went with the 6' since I want to be able to move around and come out front if necessary. They are supplying the table linens and chairs.
I am renting a company approved display board which will sit on the table. It is about two feet high and has three panels about one and a half foot wide each. The display board already has quite a selection of cards on it, but I am going to try to replace them all with sample cards I have made (um.. will make) specifically for the bridal show.
I will have some card stock samples and some stamp samples on the table. Maybe a small demo set up to let people get some hands-on experience to encourage them to attend a workshop.
I am going to donate two packages of Thank You cards, yet to be made by me, for the shows two prize draws.

| | Re: (5) Making my own cards and tags. | | Sounds fantastic! They supply the table linens, eh? Is that so they'll all be consistent, I wonder?
So, how much time do you have to make all of these?
