Safety Recall On Yarn

Don't find myself in here much, but saw this and thought of all you yarn people. Copied from the CPSC so there is no copyright problem:

CPSC, Bernat Yarn Announce Recall of “Fur Out” Yarn
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Bernat “Fur Out” yarn

Manufacturer/Importer: Spin Rite LP of Ontario, Canada

Hazard: “Fur Out” yarn is flammable when used as the sole yarn in a garment. Garments constructed of “Fur Out” yarn are dangerously flammable when exposed to a flame, posing a burn risk to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Bernat has received two reports of garments made of the recalled yarn burning, with one person receiving singed eyebrows.

Description: All 17 Bernat “Fur Out” yarn colors are involved in this recall. The recalled yarn can be identified by UPC numbers beginning with “05735527” and ending with one of the following numbers:

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

Thanks, George! Hope Bridgette sees this!
If I just finished making stuff with it, I'd be really annoyed. Luckily, I'm not yet advanced enough for furry yarns.

Thanks George. I have not used it yet, but it was only a matter of time until I tried it!

Re Safety Recall On Yarn

Why does this remind me of the Saturday Night Live skit where Dan Ackroyd was the toy sales rep who wound the toy telephone around his neck and pretended it was choking him.....

I saw that recall!

I'd avoided that yarn 'cause I thought it was horribly ugly and had an awful feel to it. There were so many nice eyelash and fur yarns out and that stuff was just nasty.

Re Safety Recall On Yarn

I'm glad I read this here! Turns out that a while back my mom bought several skiens of this stuff in purple (and some red eyelash) to make some things for one of my cousins. She's already made a scarf that's half and half with the Fur Out and the Eyelash. She's going to let my aunt know - we doubt my cousin will wear it too much, but they need to know.

I'm not sure what's she's going to do with the rest of the skeins. The other thing she was planning on making is a tote, and it will only have a little bit of the Fur Out as trim. But if she has any left, she at least knows that it either needs returned, or not used in any garments.
