| | I thought it might be fun to discuss some of the things that you are against in principle, but find your actual behavior in opposition to your feelings or beliefs.
For example - in theory, I'm trying to lose weight. In practice, I'm drinking a Doctor Pepper.
More complex example - I'm a programmer who would rather that American companies not bring in foreign programmers and am against outsourcing programming and tech support work.
In practice, I interviewed a guy today from China and wholeheartedly endorsed him for the job.
What are the things that you do that are in opposition to your professed goals or ideals?

| | Re In Theory - In Practice | | I complain far too much.
I can't stand it when I do that. It's not something I enjoy hearing from others. I certainly don't expect people to enjoy listening to me.
But, here I am complaining about my own behavior. I'm incorrigible.

| | Re In Theory - In Practice | | I'm like you, dieting and just ate half a lemon tart. Although if I weren't dieting, I probably would have eaten two lemon tarts instead of half a lemon tart. But still.

| | Re In Theory - In Practice | | I have the dieting thing too - I'm munching on a piece of string cheese while reading this thread.
In theory, I always want to remain calm and level-headed. Unfortunately, I fnd myself losing patience and sometimes my temper at times.

In theory, I don't think the death penalty is a bad thing.
In practice, I think the death penalty is a very bad thing. |

| | Re In Theory - In Practice | | In theory I'm trying to clean out this house. It's disaster. In practice, I have the top of a yogurt and two leftover Halloween Starburst wrappers on my table here in front of me.
In theory, I want to get my taxes done, and need to move my old hard drive to the new computer. In practice I'm replying to this thread. |

| | Re In Theory - In Practice | | In theory, nobody's supposed to throw things in the house. In practice, I toss stuff across the room all the time.
In theory, nobody's supposed to be yelling at anybody in our family, but in practice I do. (I'm MUCH better with this as the kids age!)
In theory, I should be at the PO right now, but in practice I am also replying to this thread.
