What do other folks think?

But, hey, I finished the season tied for last place in my fantasy league, so take that with a grain of salt. |

| | | If Julio Lugo stays in the lineup, Houston will be swept. He has a double play to turn, and bobbled it. Wagner's first pitch... BLAM. I saw that one going to the Crawford Boxes a year in advance.
Lugo sucked last year, he sucks this year. Trade Alou for a shortstop prospect or infielder. Vizcaino's not much better, but he's experienced. |

He couldn't f- up any worse if he accidentally let his bat fly and kill both George and Barb in the stands. Should have gone with Lima... anywhere. |

Well, they took out Lugo, and Vizcaino wasn't any better. Watch for one or both to be traded in the off-season for a shortstop or infielder prospect to back up Adam Everett.
Tony Eusebio is a better clutch hitter than Brad Ausmus, so they pull out Eusebio for Ausmus top of 9th and 2 men out. HAH! Smoltz smoked them again.
I think it's all summed up by the defeatist attitude of broadcaster-turned-manager Larry Dierker:
(AP) ``Here's the situation,'' he said. ``If we lose another game to the Braves, we're on vacation. And if we keep winning, we have a chance to go to the World Series. Either way, it's a good life.'' |

Ailsa | Hmm, Ailsa, one out of four, not bad, err.
And the winners are...
NY in 5 [wow, what a comeback, aye?]
Seattle in 5 [yay! show must go on, eh?]
Arizona in 5 [Ailsa!]
Atlanta in 3 [no comment]

Hmm, Ailsa, one out of four, not bad, err. | Hey, that's a lot better than my football picks have been doing.
The second-round lineup (with my picks, which should not be the basis for any wager, unless you want to lose money):
New York vs. Seattle -- New York in 7.
Atlanta vs. Arizona -- Atlanta in 6.
Anyone else?

Not ANOTHER New York v. Atlanta World Series. This must be what baseball was like back in the 50s and 60s.
Go Seattle! Go Arizona!

-J | I know, I know. I want Seattle to win, too, but I think New York will prevail.
Bob Ryan of the Boston Globe wrote a story today that pretty much sums up how I feel: Don't give these guys a Bronx cheer

| | After two games, the Yanks are up 2-0 (Sara must be happy), and Atlanta and Arizona are tied at 1-1.
I hate to say this, but I'm almost glad the Sox didn't make it into the playoffs. Boston's just no match for any of these teams in the pitching or hitting departments. We already have enough bad memories -- why make more?

Arizona is up to rolling over Atlanta. What was that? sh'yeah, right!
But Mariners... Oh My Gawd! 14:3, that's what those guys do when I peacefully sleep on the other side of the world! However same Gawd help those folks in the upcoming two [and the rest] games.

| | I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Yankees will win the pennant. Should've been the A's, but you can win if you don't win. |
10-23-2001, 03:40 AM
| | | Hmm... I can't really argue that the Yankees will win. Would argue that the A's should have won though:p

Awright, last round of predictions here. I say the Yanks will win (yet again), but it'll go to seven games first. Anyone else?
