Vacation

If you had unlimited time and an unlimited budget, what would your dream vacation be? I want to know what you've always wanted to see and do in your dream spot, too. Ok, most of what you want to do.


I just got one of my travel newsletters, and this month's special is a walking/driving tour of Provence. This might be my current dream vacation. I collect pictures of Provence, cookbooks, and if I could, I would love to buy an old farmhouse there and grow lavendar. And kids, and dogs.

I would like to visit as many wineries as possible, and farmers markets as well. I would most enjoy going in a small group of close friends instead of going on a group tour, because I like to travel at my own speed. I'd also want to see some of the out-of-the-way places that tourists might not see.

I think I'd want to go in late spring or early summer, but I'd want to be there when the lavendar is in bloom. And take a really good camera- my favourite photos of Provence involve that gorgeous contrast of old cypruses next to lavendar fields.


Ok- who's next?

I'd rent an island, somewhere-far far away from everywhere, something that is stocked and has lots of servent to bring me lots of chocolate while I lay on the beach reading.

I would road trip across the US. I want to some day pack just what I need, hop in my car, start driving west and when I get to the coast turn around and drive east. Zig zag across the country until I've had my fill and am ready to go home.

And of course visit all my buds while I'm out and about.

I do't realy have a dream vacation. I'd like to make it to Ireland and Australia before I die, preferably while still young enough to have fun. I guess after being spoiled from living in a slice of paradise for so long, I dream more of living where its warm again than visiting anywhere. lol

Ireland first, then Scotland, then England. And since it's unlimited time and budget, a good thorough "peek into every interesting corner" kind of vacation. Probably a mix of tours and personal browsing.

Japan. With enough spare change to hit every doll shop in the country, buy every bit of anime crap I wanted, and totally raid Licca Castle and Totoco.

Second choice, Japan also. With MIL around to show us everything, and go everywhere SHE wants to go.

I have no idea. Someplace warm but not too hot, with plenty to do but some down time, too.
