| | Where is that $%@! lamb?? | | WE did the whole 'in like a lion' thing. Also, 'out like a lion'. It's now April, I'd like to point out. My weather forecast for this week:
Tuesday: severe thunderstorm watch, heavy showers. High 70, low 32.
Wednesday: rain or snow. High 34, low 27.
Thursday: flurries or snow showers. High 32, low 27.
Friday: 60% chance of flurries or rain changing to freezing rain later in the evening. High 32, low 23. |

| | Re Where is that $%@! lamb?? | | March went out like a lamb as it should have, but the lion is back in April. Gorgeous day yesterday, but plummeting temps for the rest of the week here. Thankfully no snow in the forecast here, but it is supposed to get down around/below freezing at night. My poor plants! Speaking of which, what types of plants should I be covering? Everything's coming up or has leaves, but I don't know what can make it, and what I should try to protect. I have roses, lillies (all varities), hastas, irises, vines and a few other random plants that I can't remember what they are just yet.

| | Re Where is that $%@! lamb?? | | At least you guys have gotten the 70! I saw a weather forecaster say last night things were going to "head in the opposite direction." Um, what's opposite from 50 and raining? |

| | Re Where is that $%@! lamb?? | | Bree, everything should be fine on that list. If your irises are close to blooming, you might lose some blooms, but mine are just now setting bud, so I;m not too worried.
If you've already taken house plants outside, you need to get them back inside, and if you have any really tender plants like camellias, those would need to be covered. Oh- if you've already planted annuals and vegetables, those will need covering. And you'll need smacking, too, for getting to plant cool stuff before I can! |

| | Re Where is that $%@! lamb?? | | Every time I see this thread, I think of the Broadway Market in Buffalo. During Holy Week, the market used to be packed with (mostly) women buying ingredients for their traditional, "old country" foods for Easter dinner. I don't think a single person left the market without having bought a Butter Lamb:

Good, I was worried! Nothing is actually blooming yet, just growing. I don't have any house plants that I put outside (except my aloes on really sunny days, but they come right back in for now), so I don't have to worry about that. I've only planted a few bulbs and such so far this spring, but none of the new stuff is coming up yet. All the other stuff is what was there when Nick moved into the house. I remember what most of the things are as they're coming up, but there are a few things I can't remember what was there last year. Thanks for your help (minus the smacking, of course)!

| | Re Where is that $%@! lamb?? | | Aw, that lamb is cute!
But it's so cute I'd never want to dip into it!
(Yes, I'm one of those. Buy cute, useable stuff, then never use it because it's too cute to use. I'm much better nowadays, thank you. )

| | Re Where is that $%@! lamb?? | | The Butter Lamb! Staple of Święconka! We have one every year. My mother hates beheading it, so starts at the butt, which is even more comical.

Did I tell you that my mom used to buy me a cinnamon bear once a week at a bakery we liked? I always saved them for later. She found the box of cinnamon bears later - after I went to university. but they had such tiny paws and cute little eyes... |

And yeah, we are not experiencing April Showers, but rather April Flakes. What do those bring, May Cakes?
