| | Re On the road again........ | | I guess that Cindy will just have to send #4 to visit you. Or she can adopt a Dingo.
How's Cindy's headache? |

| | Re On the road again........ | | All four of my headaches have gone to the arcade with Jeremy.
Libby has decided that the only solution for dealing with dingos is to eat them. Rex is adorable. Libby is adorable when she's not being cranky and nasty. Which is not right now.
And last night really was just a riot! There was a guy who honestly believed himself to be an outstanding musician. IMO, he got the Sanjaya award instead. He kept going up for song after song. Which was fine except that a) he kept choosing songs he'd never heard, b) forgetting the words to the songs he knew, and c) falling off the stage. He would also yell at the crowd to be quiet. You know, since obviously we were in the presence of greatness.
There was also a guy who decided to sing 'Roadhouse Blues' by The Doors. Except that he was really, really good at substituting new lyrics, but not at all like the funny ones Weird Al comes up with. Finally, after two warnings and three F-bombs, the DJ turned off his mike and the bouncers came in to help the guy readjust his whole attitude thingy. It was so funny at first- I kept looking at #1 and saying,"Did he just say that??" and #1 agreed that in fact, he had. Too funny, but...omg I hope my boys enver sing about stuff like that on a stage somewhere.
And then we came home, laughing all the way. And then Libs tried to eat Rex again.
Anyway, I didn't have a hangover, I did have fun, and maybe we'll go do it again tonight. After all, I didn't get to sing 'All Jacked Up!' last night... |

No, really, we didn't get too silly last night...all that alcohol was consumed over a 4 hour period. And we were totally responsible and took a cab home.
I like Windsor. Took Rex for a nice long walk (with #4) this morning and the houses are just lovely in this area. It's cool and rainy, but comfortable. Sara would really like the temps.

| | Re On the road again........ | | BBQ tonite was great fun.
If Cindy ever volunteers to make margaritas for your party, make sure you give her a SMALL bottle of tequila. I swear the girl thinks it's a seasoning or something. I stopped her at 3 cups ("there's just a little (HUH? like a couple of cups!") left...let's put it all in!!!) and they were putting everyone under the table!
After sobering up on Sangria and delicious pulled pork (with Slick's BBQ sauce, courtesy of Helen) and other yummy fare, some of the group went outside to play games, the boys made icecream, and eventually I discovered that Helen's Gary's Russ (figure that one out ) is a chainmailler, and we spent a happy couple of hours looking at tutorials, discussing how to cut rings and make certain weaves that have given us grief over the years.
To bed, to bed now....tomorrow is our last day in Canada but we are planning a day trip to the southern-most tip of the country for some hiking et al. Should be fun!!!!

| | Re On the road again........ | | Took the boys and Rex to the beach today. Went to Pointe Pelle, the water was cold, but clear, and it was very pretty.
Words of advice:
Don't bury #4 in the sand up to his ears because he will screech bloody murder when flung into Lake Erie to get the sand out of his ears.
Be careful when walking out to the southernmost tip of Canada because it's gone from being a nice beach to rock-infested waters that are nearly impossible to manuever.
Dingos like ice cream (we already knew that ).
Just winding down tonite - going to try to go to bed early (relatively...we haven't been to bed before 1:30 a.m. yet!). Tomorrow morning we head to Georgia for the second half of the trip. I'm hoping to be able to get online once we get down there!
Cindy and The Horsemen have been fabulous hosts and we've had a terrific time. Even WITH the dingo/collie wars...........

We had so much fun, though. I definitely have my fingers crossed in case RTII ever happens again. Jeremy is a cute kid - uh, big guy. Rex really is a cute dog, even if he did want to make cat snacks.
But, despite what Lynn says, my margaritas rock. I am master of margaritas, I'm telling you. And no matter what my friends say, I followed the recipe perfectly. And yes, they did put everyone under the table. But they were really yummy. |

| | Re On the road again........ | | I don't remember if we did. What did you say?
And the tip at Point Pelee used to have a nice gravel path leading to a platform made of granite slabs with a cool plaque on it. The path is gone, the platform isn't exactly gone but it is all upended and is dangerous. No plaque, and the tip itself used to extend out into the lake for a long way. Now, it's maybe 50 feet from the pile of granite to the end of Canada. What a mess. |

| | Re On the road again........ | | We made it!!
Nearly midnight when we pulled into M. Paddy Cakes (I'll post the link tomorrow if someone else doesn't beat me to it ). Marsha, my axe-murdering jewelry friend, was asleep (some excuse about being up since 3 a.m. with a 19 month old) but her SO Jimmy met me at at the driveway, and Marsha soon joined us. We haven't met the kids (Georgia, 19 mo old, and Jack, 5 year old) yet...but they promise to give us an early start tomorrow.
Tomorrow being met by Nancy and Scott (another jewelry friend and her hubby) I'm not sure what's on the agenda besides BEACH. This place is soooo cute...looks like a perfect place for a gathering! There is room to sleep about 8, I think!!!
And Cindy, we had to kill one of the bottles of Canadian wine. I was hopped up on Dew by the time I got here and needed to unwind.

That's ok, I tried another glass of that Michigan cherry wine, and about 12:30 decided on a wine tour of the Leelanau peninsula. Complete with gushing email to Chateau Fontaine, the makers of said wine.
And that's after only one glass of the stuff.
I'm glad you made it ok. Have a wonderful time, and tell us all about the beach. Oh - and I forgot to tell you to go to eat at The Pink House. It's something I missed that I would definitely love to do the next time we go to Savannah. Deb loved it! |

| | Re On the road again........ | | If The Pink House is on the mainland, I probably won't go. I kind of like being on the island. The beach here is amazing Cindy, you will have to come!!! Jeremy spent an hour boogie boarding and had a marvelous time, I just stayed on the sidelines, read, watched some chick jump up with no bathing suit top on when the tide started coming in, and watched some people rescue a seagull that got tangled up in a kite string.
We also played with beads. Marsha and Nancy do AMAZING work. I'm totally not worthy.
