Locked, loaded and ready for bear. 
Time for the annual road trip. This year, we're heading east to visit none other than the famed 4 Horsemen, Dixie, Libby, Poe, Alexander, Anna, Moody and the crabs, and of course, our beloved Cindy. I'm sure while there, we'll get a chance to see Helen as well!
After touring the Canadian countryside, we're heading south and further east to Tybee Island, GA. I'm renting a house near the beach with some other axe-murdering Internet friends (from a jewelry board), and then on the way home, meeting our own Melanie and her brood.
I have a laptop now, so I should be able to keep in touch.
3000 miles worth of gas: $500
Rental of house near the beach: $439
12 days with the teen, the dingo and NO WORK: PRICELESS

Maybe next year I can finally afford to take a road trip. I don't recall ever axe-murdering anyone, so maybe somebody won't mind me stopping in.

She forgot to mention Fishstick, Tartar Sauce and Chips.
I can't wait! On Sunday, we're having a Dingo Party. Our friends who have an 18 month old thought this would be cool. Their baby will have his picture taken with Rex the dingo. I will post it.
Tomorrow, wine tour. Sunday, dingo party. Monday, trip to southernmost point in Canada. Tuesday, collapse in a tired heap and look at pictures of it all.  |

"southernmost point" of Canada - Niagara Falls? (Interesting Factoid: when you're in Buffalo, Canada isn't North, it's West. )

Nope, we are south of Michigan. Point Pelee National Park is the southernmost point in Canada, and on a really clear day you can see Ohio.  |

She is in Pawpaw, Michigan. When she first said the town, I thought she'd managed to get to Pawpaw, Kentucky, and I flipped a little. But, she'll be here in about 3 hours. Yay! |
