Tomorrow, I take him to the Marine office so they can whisk him away. He takes the ASVAB test tomorrow evening, gets his physical Thursday morning, and we all are going to his final swearing in on Thrusday at noon. Immediately after, he leaves for New Mexico with his friends.

Well with that plethora of "free time" he's going to have while not cooking, I'm sure he can spare time for a few brotherly-love-fear-o-God phone calls every day.

Oh BTW...I talked to hubby (the former Navy cook, who put together 3 squares, including baking bread from scratch, for 75 on the submarine...) about The Man of Leisure.
He says #1's going to have a cush job and have PLENTY of free time. And he's totally serious.

Hmmm. Gotta remember though, #1's not cooking for the military. I'm betting they're not going to have everything down to a science like military cooks.

But what's the conversation about cooking - is that going to be his assignment? I guess you can face the enemy as well with a cleaver as with a bayonet.
