PM has a gazillionaire high school buddy who lives in Seattle. Every summer, he and his wife take their 70' motor yacht up the Inside Passage to various places in Alaska. They invite friends to hop on and off at varying points - in '98, we went from Seattle to Ketchikan.
Tomorrow we meet him and his wife and another couple in Cordova and spend two weeks exploring the area between there and Kodiak. No communications up there, of course, so I'll be out of touch.
Assuming we are successful at dodging the Grizzlies, we'll be home late on the 27th.

We did! Whales, sea otters, eagles, puffins, porpoises, even a wolf. And bears. But no penguins.
