| | ..... is running through my neighborhood. It looks just like this one!! Yes. An Emu. It has been running around my community all day, and a couple of hours ago it hit our yards. My husband got some great pictures, and was helping the police but it got away again.
It seems to be ok near people, but not cars. The police have been calling all area farms etc to see where it belongs, but no one owns it. They have now called the SPCA to help trap it. I don't know where it will wind up, but it is running through some back yards now. The tough part is slowing traffic so not to scare it, or get it hit by a car.

| | Re A wild Emu.............. | | Only in my neighborhood. Ugh. The poor thing.
The police have been calling all over --there are some farms in Bucks county, but none of them claim to be missing an emu. The plan last night was for the SPCA to help trap it. It then becomes a "resident" of the township. The police were planning to put it into the dog pound, and let the animal rescue people deal with it today. They weren't going to tell the dog pound it was there!! Even police have a sense of humor!
The thing about the emu is that its mating call is like a stomping of feet. All of the people running = the correct sound!! It didn't seem to mind the people, it was the cars that terrified it.

| | Re A wild Emu.............. | | Well, Angie, I don't know how this would FIT on an emu (or an ostrich for that matter) but you can certainly have your pick of pink saddles. (That one is actually made from ostrich...I don't think the ostrich would appreciate being saddled with an ostrich-skin saddle!!)
