Maybe you do need to call the doc back. You must be in pure agony.
If it is any consolation, my one bite is scabbed over from scratching, but seems to be improving.

Well, I was finally able to sleep - not that the itching stopped, but because i was too tired to care any more. It was bad this morning but it's OK now, it's coming and going but man, when it comes, it's a killer.

I'd be a lot more worried if you'd been out of the country lately.

Also something I read about turtles and bot fly larvae no longer concerns me. Yes, we have a new pet at our house. No, he or she isn't from bot fly territory.

It's definitely bad to try to wash off after exposure to poison ivy this way (with hot water). Once you have the rash, it may be less of an issue, if you've already washed.

But I'd go with doctor's advice, given the choice.

No advice except that Atarax gave me a killer headache, but only after I regained consciousness. I tried it recently, though.

Mine wasn't a poison ivy thing (at least not that time), just a bad reaction to something (don't know exactly what) and a bad rash up and down my arms. Doc said the rash will feel worse and itch worse if you bath/shower with hot water. Again, something about opening up the pores makes it worse. I wish I could remember now exactly what he said, but of course I can't. I don't know that it's supposed to actually make the rash worse or last longer, but more of a comfort thing, along with the fact that obviously if it itches worse, you scratch more, and then you're worse off than before.

Doc called. I have a skin yeast infection! Who knew?! apparently yeast lives on your skin and doesn't do much of nuthin' but every once in a while, when you get a cut or something (like, oh, a BUG BITE), it finds its way into the top layer of skin to cause issues. So it's a good thing she tickled all the bites with a Q-tip.

They're already fading and pretty much the treatment is to put Lotrimin or Nizoral (Rx) on 'em.

could be, after all I've been practicing my contortionist act and have been trying to get my leg behind my head - maybe I brushed my eye with my calf...

Just kidding. Yeah, I have to tell the eye doctor about this. Itch leg, rub eye... who knows.
