| | Re The beadings will continue until morale improves... | | Yay! More stuff!
I've finally gotten my confidence level up high enough to really start playing around with some of the stuff Lynn sent me. (Lynn, I'm pretty sure Tiger's Eye, Sodalite, Amythyst, Howlite and Amber don't qualify as glass beads. You might want to check your beaders handbook ).
Anyway, one piece I've really wanted to be able to put together right:
An amazing introduction into my repetoire: MULTIPLE colors!
A cute little braclet:
Another cute little bracelet:
A necklace to go with the "another cute little bracelet"
And I think the most disturbing thing about taking up this hobby is when I reached the point where I've realized, more than once, that I don't have a set of earrings to match a piece I want to wear in to work... and so I sit down and make one in less than a quarter hour.
And all the big red beads were supposed to go on the amber necklace above, but they didn't want to. They wanted to be a bracelet. Go figure.

| | Re The beadings will continue until morale improves... | | No, I'm thinking of my Mom. She loves tiger's eye, and she loves patriotic stuff. I'm seeing star-shaped tiger's eyes, with burgundy, navy blue and cream beads between. Maybe.
I can make something myself once I move an unpack, I just need the stars. Lynn, where'd you get 'em?

Stick a hot needle in it...if it's amber, it will smell like tree sap. If it's fake, it will smell like plastic burning. If it's glass, the needle won't go in. )
The rest don't qualify. And I'm fully aware of that. I just took artistic liscense with your "I'd take some glass beads" statement and decided you needed to be pushed ot the next level.
Next you get into things like emeralds, rubies and topaz. But you're on your own with those.

I got them at my LBS. I'll look and see if they have more. I think I sent all of mine to Eris.

Eris! I hope you're proud of yourself! These are beautiful! | Thank you. And I'm really proud of the blue and white one. I'm so glad I was able to pull that one off so well.

Eris, you do absolutely beautiful work. The key word there is "do". I keep buying beads and throwing them in the bead box. One of these days . . . Or else, I'll send them to those of you who will do something with them.
Melanie, your idea for the patriotic bracelet is wonderful - can you post pictures when you get it done?

But I did buy a bead spinner and am finally going to try bead crochet - not the hats and stuff that I've done, but the ropes! I can't wait to try - I hope I can figure it out!!
Stuff like this: |

| | Re The beadings will continue until morale improves... | | I wish I'd taken pictures of the bracelets that I helped John's daughter make for her soccer team. We used small blue and black beads for their team colors and white plastic alphabet beads, spelling out their names and jersey number. She passed them out just after the championship game in their last tournament. They turned out really cute, although I've noticed that the soccer moms wear them to the games instead.

| | Re The beadings will continue until morale improves... | | Eris, that first necklace is absolutely beautiful! I have been lurking in here trying to get some inspiration!!
Deb, I also have a bead box. I keep saying that I would love to do it, but I just don't have a creative bone in my body. I suppose it will be handed down to my oldest daughter when my husband finally gets sick of the beads piling up! |

And Deb, I also have a bead box. I am a complete crow when it coems to collecting pretty shiny things, but then I don't know what to do with them. Eventually I'll ship them off to seomoen who can actually use them, but for now I am just squirreling things away. |

| | Re The beadings will continue until morale improves... | | Eris, they are just stunning. I like the blending of the darker bead with the blue and white. How long are the chains???
How do you find the time??? You are very talented.
