How to panic a NICU nurse

We spent Friday morning at the cardiologist's office doing a test marathon. He passed the stress test, but something on one of the other tests has the cardiologist concerned. He called while I was napping, so I only got enough information to make me worry and not enough to know what's going on. We'll be seeing the doc on Monday, though, so at least I don't have too long to imagine worse things than are probably actually going on.

FWIW, the last time a cardiologist was worried, he wanted to check Bob into the hospital RIGHT NOW instead of seeing him in the office on Monday, so I'm not hyperventilating any more.

Prayers for you and Bob. I know this must be an anxious time for both of you, but I think it's positive that he will be thoroughly checked out in the hospital and receive whatever treatment or medication modifications he needs to get well.

Not quite bland and boring, but not too bad. No surprise that the cardiologist wants a cardiac cath. There are a couple of small areas where blood flow is decreased after Bob exercises. He didn't even have any symptoms during the stress test.

It looks like there's no damage to the heart muscle, but in the interest of keeping things that way, the cardiac cath will be done at University of MD hospital where they can put in stents if needed -- and where his cardiac surgeon works, if it comes to that. I don't expect that it will, but I felt a lot better knowing that he'd be available if needed.

The cardiac cath is scheduled for 1pm on Wednesday.

To keep life interesting, when I called my parents to let them know, I found out that my dad is having some relatively minor surgery the same day. He'll be in the hospital overnight. Bob will come home the same day if he doesn't need stents and on Thursday if he does.

Judy, it sounds like it is under control, and good thing the docs are acting on the side of caution.
My continued thoughts and prayers that all will be well. Will your dad be in the same hospital? That would make things easy for you, but it usually doesn't work out that way!!
