| | Guess what we saw last night? | | We got to see the space shuttle fly over!
Okay, it was just a spot of light in the sky, but still, how cool?! Last night at church a friend told me that she had heard that the shuttle would be going over the Montgomery skies at 9:11, which worked out perfectly. We had just enough time to get home, brush teeth and read half a chapter of Harry and it was about 9:04. We actually almost missed it because it was already visible in the sky when we stepped out on the porch. It was perfect for where we live, because the part of the sky that it was tracking through is actually the most visible from our house - if it had been on a different path we would have missed it entirely.
Just one little bright spot of light, but man, it was truckin' it!

| | Re Guess what we saw last night? | | Well, now I'm stumped. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, but I'm not seeing that there IS a shuttle currently up! Discovery is supposed to launch on the 7th, but nothing else is up. So what did I see last night?!
Hey, did I ever tell you guys that I saw the real Enterprise shuttle when I was a kid? That's the one that was just an orbital tester, that had to be piggybacked to a plane, not capable of flying on its own. It was launched from several spots, and at one point it made a stopover at the Atlanta airport for a day or two. We went out to see it from as close as folks were allowed to go. My mom's got pictures somewhere.

| | Re Guess what we saw last night? | | You could have seen the Space Station, Melanie. When Discovery was up (in June?) I read that you could see both in the sky at the same time.
