| | We are packing up the boy child today, and moving him out and back to school tomorrow. He is very anxious to get back????? I think there is a major party planned for tomorrow night. But Mom isn't supposed to know that. Anyhow, my dining room and kitchen look like a storage unit once again. Ahh, after this one more back to school for us. Anyhow, I think I will miss him this year--but then he has been so grumpy I may not!!!
He is moving into an on-campus town house with 7 other guys. It has 4 bedrooms, (2 to a room) and 3.5 baths. No kitchen, they still have to eat in the cafe--which I am happy about. I can't see them cooking for themselves. It has private basketball and volleyball courts which you can be sure was the attraction.

| | Yes, and I've heard about how college guys clean. But if they're not cooking for themselves, at least maybe they won't recreate this story:
One guy I knew said that one Christmas break, they had a ton of dishes in their apartment. Rather than doing something smart like, oh, actually washing the dishes before leaving, they put them all in the tub, sprayed a whole can of Raid over the whole mess, then left. For two weeks.

| | I think he'll do well in his new living arrangements. After all, he has some college under his belt and knows how to study and budget his time.
I hope that he'll be less grumpy back in college.... |

Yes, but will they clean for themselves? | They have a cleaning lady (provided by the college) that handles sinks showers and bathrooms. This is the same in the dorms. All the dorms are suited,--the bathrooms and sinks are cleaned once a week.
They are only responsible for their own rooms and I don't really care if it gets cleaned or not. It is his problem. There is a common area, that all share, like a family room. That should be pretty decent. Supposedly the floors were replaced with new hardwood floors over the summer. They better not scratch them. The unit has private laundry facilities, that are free--I guess that is why the board $$ is higher.

| | Free laundry. For guys. LMAO. Something tells me the school is going to make money hand over fist on that one, and Angie will still see huge piles come home.
I had one (very) disgusting friend in college who put sheets on at the start of the semeseter, and removed them to go home. At THE END OF THE YEAR. |

| | I want to live where he's living. That's about 25 steps up from the house I lived in senior year of college.

| | All of the dorms have cleaning ladies. They only do the bathrooms and room sinks. This "townhouse" is on campus, so it too qualifies for the cleaning lady. I always pitied the ladies that had the boys dorms.
In the dorms there wasn't free laundry, just in this townhouse setup. He has detergent and dryer sheets. He BETTER do his laundry!!!!

| | Well we are back, and he safely at school. The townhouse was not what I was expecting!! It is actually quite nice. All the walls are paneled white--new hardwood floors. His room has a little alcove in it, and huge front window. Great view of the parking lot!! It will be really pretty when it snows. He is a die hard Eagles fan, and his roommate is a die hard Giants fan. I hope they can remain friends through football season.
He annoyed the hell out of me for the last week. But when it was time to go, I lost it. I cried half way home. I am a mess. He and I got really close this summer, and I do miss him already. But as my husband said, he'll be home in 2 weeks for Labor Day. Just in time to start annoying me again.
The rain made the day bitter cold today. I am still freezing. Funny thing, as we entered the unit, there was a woman standing outside with an umbrella. I thought she was someone's mom. It was their cleaning lady. I guess she was getting an insight into her tenants!!!!
