| | We were just fixing to watch TV when we heard shouting, and so #s1 and 2 went outside. #1 started just screaming "Call 911!". I did, and but fast, too. #1 never screams.
Then I went outside because I heard a girl shrieking. People on the sidewalk in front of my house told me she was pregnant and had gotten hit in the stomach, so I went running accross thet street to see if I could help.
She is 16, doesn't know how far along she is, and she got hit several times accross the belly with a crowbar! What kind of guy would hit a girl with anything is just beyond me- but a pregnant one? I just spent the last half-hour holding a 16 year old on my lap trying to calm her down and breathe, and trying to convince her that her baby is going to be ok. Not that I'm sure of it, but I did get her to settle enough to talk to the police when they finally arrived.
#1 nearly caught hold of the kid who hit her. He jumped into a car at the last minute- #1 hit the car hard enough to leave a huge dent in the door. I don't think I'd be sitting here if that punch had landed on the guy #1 was aiming for. Right now, he and #2 are giving their statements to the police.
Ok, I'm rambling, but I am just flipping. I'll feel much better once I hear about whether the girl is going to be ok. |

| | Oh no!!
Thank goodness #1 and you were there to help! And while I want that Bastard to be caught and prosecuted, I'm glad that #1 didn't hit him - the last think you need is #1 getting hit with a crowbar too!!!
I hope the girl and her baby are ok. I'm sure that you being there was a huge comfort to her! |

| | Update: the girl needs to find herself a new boyfriend. Because I just may have to kill the one she's got now. #1 offered to drive him to the hotspital so he could be with his girlfriend. "Nah, she'll call me when she comes home" is NOT the right answer. #1 is going out for the day, otherwise I think he'd end up in jail.
Of course, his trip for today may not help... |

| | The BF didn't hit her, but OTOH, he did nothing at all during the fight to protect her. Last night he even asked the police if he had to press charges. I am so glad that university starts soon - #1 is developing an anger problem. However, the BF did agree to press charges after #1 gave his opinion of the entire mess. |

| | It doesn't surprise me at all that #1 would be the first responder. Glad she'll be okay.

| | This gets weird - I almost needed a flow chart to figure it all out. Apparently, boyfriend (BF) hangs out with his cousin. Cousin's best friend started fighting with everyone, and then all hell broke loose. Cousin's friend calls all his "dawgs" (I am not kidding- #1 heard the officer trying to write it all down) and so said dawgs all come running with bats, crowbars etc. So, BF's cousin's girlfriend steps in and starts spitting at everyone then grabs a bat and tries to smack BF. Endlessly long story short, BF's cousin ends up getting really angry at the pregnant girl, swears at her and punches her, and his girlfriend hits her once with a stick. PG hits back, and another guy (cousin's friend) starts just whacking on her with the crowbar.
If anything good could possibly come from this- and honestly, I don't think it can - but #2 was really terribly shaken by all this. I think he finally gets the whole 'drink responsibly' lecture. Seeing #1 go to a bar and have one beer and watching me with my friends having a glass or two of wine didn't really make as much of an impression as seeing an entire street full of really stupid mostly drunk people trying to beat each other to death. He went out first thing this morning and came back inside in tears. He said,"Mama, there's still blood on the pavement". He won't be forgetting this anytime soon, poor lamb. | | |
