Deb and Sara - those cakes are wonderful - Sara's goat looks rather cross tho...I think he might eat the cake he's on!!!
Margaret - BEAUTIFUL briolettes....they look like emeralds but maybe they are peridot? I never appreciated my birthstone until I started making jewelry and found some really pretty shades of peridot.
Well, it's going to be a quiet day. Dan is camping and will be back later. He's promised dinner out, I just have to decide where. I want to get some photography done, and I have to start packing for a trip I'm taking on Thursday.
Had a great day of early celebration with Bree and Nick, Jeremy and one of his friends yesterday. We went to the Nebraska State Fair, which is really not that big of a deal, but it was fun to spend the time with them.
Bree made me an awesome birthday gift - a plate that has a (close your ears MJ) broken plate in the center with the calendar from the year I was born. I'll post a photo later today when I get pics taken.

They looked like Tsavorites to me, although I admit I'm not certain.
Emeralds are really not great stones. They're all fracture filled and very included and it's extremely rare to find one that's not filled with oil and wax to make them look presentable. I prefer other green stones, like your birthstone! Or the Tsavorites. Or Tourmeline. Or Chrome Diopside... or...

Thanks again everyone.
Boys took me to dinner at Ruby Tuesday, which was really good. They had free salad bar if you ordered steak, but I was good and ate only half my steak (the rest is for lunch today  ). Then we went grocery shopping...they are so funny, both of them toss things in the cart when they think I am not looking.
Just nice and quiet, but very enjoyable. I'll get a photo of the plate up hopefully this week. She did an awesome job!!!
