I'm back!!!
I'm FREEZING!!!
We got here on Friday evening. The move went pretty well.
The move went pretty well. The movers came on Wed and spent all day packing up the house. They did a great job. Wed night we cleaned up and slept on the floor (note, if you plan to sleep on an air matress, you need to charge the pump in advance). We planned to leave early on Thurs am, but we were up finishing things late on Wed, so we slept in a bit. By the time we loaded up, went to the bank etc, we were on the highway aroung 10:30.
The drive was ok. The cats did great. They were very upset at first, but settled down after a bit. We hoped to get to Chattenooga the first night, but got nowhere near! We stopped in Cordele, Georgia - about 2 hours south of Atlanta. Georgia has got to have the greasiest greasy spoons on the road!!! Oy!!! Had to get 2 hotel rooms because of Scooter. Brian and I stayed in one room, and the boys and I in the other.
Got up early on Friday - got on the highway by 6am, and got to Bloomington by 6:30 pm. No problems. The drive was pretty good. It poured and was scary near Gainsville, and a bit of traffic around Atlanta and Nashville, but thats it. Tennessee has got to be the most beautiful state in the continental US! It was breathtaking.
It was great here over the weekend. It was in the low 90s and dry. We drove around town with the windows open. Our land-couple left the keys so we were able to get in and get settled (which doesn't take long when all you have is a suitcase, 3 cats and an air mattress. Spent the weekend putting down shelf paper. No EA, no TV, no furniture. Kind of boring. We went for some drives in the country and had some meals at GREAT restaurants!
I stared work on Monday. So far so good. My boss is great and everyone there is wonderful and nice. Have a nice corner office with fancy furniture and a space heater.
The moving van arrived yesterday. I was working, but Brian supervised the unload. They didn't do as well with the unload as the load. This house is much smaller than the one in FL and there are boxes everywhere! We can't move or find anything! I'm sure we'll get is sorted out in a few days, but its nuts right now.
I woke up this morning, and could'nt find things like my shoes - or pants. Wore a dress to work - with sandals. I don't own any hose. Went out to get in Snorky and thought I would die! It was in the 40s!!! I'm freezing. My office space heater didn't work. They gave me another, but its not like my oscillating space heater with remote control in Floriday. I was soooooo cold. Boss sent me home a few hours early to unpack. Got here and Brian had all the windows open. I thought I would die. So now I'm wearing Brian's sweats and trying to stay toasty - not succeeding well!!!
Brian hooked up the computers and phones today, and so we're back.
I've missed you all! What have ya'll been up to? |

| Whew, I'm glad I didn't have to move quite so far - apparently it gives you a split personality!
Welcome home, guys!

At least you have a nice warm hubby to snuggle with. :-) That and an electric mattress pad will get you through the winter.

| | Ahh, glad you are working on being normal again!! 40's, this past week I would kill for 40 degree weather. It was 79 and humid here today, and it was divine.
Glad the trip was uneventful.

| | 40s are nice! Much better than the 80s we had this weekend!
60 is perfect though. That's where we are right now. I wish I could have 60 year round.
Sounds like the move went well. All the chaos is only temporary. You will be settled in no time! |

| | You can stop shaving your legs. A) no one will see them in this freezing weather and b) they'll be better insulated.

always trying to look on the bright side

| | Ugh. Don't remind me. My legs are white like fish bellies. Couldn't find a razor and in the middle of a meeting I looked down in horror!!! Luckily I have light hair, but I would have hoped that so much stubble would have provided a bit of warmth, but it seems to have only provided embarasment! |

| | In fairness to you, it's going to be 60 here today, and I am wearing a lightweight cashmere sweater and pants. No socks, however. I'll wait til it's cold to do that.
I'm probably going to sweat all day, but, it's worth it to be able to wear comfy clothes. This is one of my favorite sweaters. I hope you found the box with the warmer clothes in it now. I think cashmere is the best fabric b/c it's light, it can be layered, it doesn't make you too hot when you're warm or too cold when you are cold, and it's not itchy, so you don't need to wear anything under it if you don't want to. Maybe when things aren't so hectic you can knit yourself a cashmere sweater |

Thought of you this a.m. when I went outside and the temp was 37...and there was frost on the grass. BRRRRRRRR
Maybe your boss will let you bring your nice ocilating space heater in?
