| | We're back. #4 got his usual double helping of candy because he says thank you while gasping and looking astonished that anyone would give him anything.
#2 had the best costume from our family this year. He wore his jeans tucked into hunting boots, carried his toy wooden shotgun and wore #1's Young Republicans t-shirt. He covered the YR logo with a sign that said "Dick Cheney", leaving only the elephant showing from the shirt. When he'd go to a door, he'd offer the person a copy of a target, announce that he was Dick Cheney, and ask if the person wanted to be his friend. He had no takers, funnily enough, although many people nearly hurt themselves laughing!
What did you guys do? |

| | I spent $67. in candy, and gave almost all of it away. Lots of kids. Lots of my students came for a treat.
My son came home on a surprise visit. It was a good night.

| | My little babester was set on being a ghost this year. It was quite funny. She had her first "scare" with one house. The teenage daughter was out on the porch, waiting for people with spooky music and lighting.
The babester went up, like normaly, trick or treat. The girl did not say anything, just looked at her really closely, moved back and forth a bit, got her face really close to the babesters (within about 6 or 7 inches) looking her deep in the eyes. She did not give up the candy immediately. This went on for a quite a few seconds.
The girl came off the step a little, babester backed up. She was wondering what was going on, but the babester was determined to get a piece of candy!
She stood her ground, looking at the girl strangely, and then got the piece of candy, said thank you and started taking off. She was booking back to mom and dad waiting in the driveway. The girl started to follow the babester down the sidewalk and the babester looked behind her, got kind of a scare and playfully screamed and started running.
It was kind of wild for her. She told us that the girl must have liked her and wanted to play. But, she had to trick or treat because she wanted to get lots and lots of candy.
Here's a photo of the babester in her costume.

| | While we were trick or treating last night we heard a whole lot of commotion. A bunch of high schoolers got all dressed up and were riding in a trailer being pulled by a pick up truck. They were tossing candy bags at the trick or treaters. It was great and the boys all loved it.

| | Wow, Tina! That's a great idea. My older three can do that next year- #'s 2 and 3 were kind of sad that this will be their last year to trick or treat, but throwing bags of candy- now that they can get into! |

| | I spent $9 on candy. We had no trick-or-treaters. Candy is now free game in our house.

| | Just so you know how I spent the last 2 weeks:
He won prizes for scariest and most original in 2 contests and we even figured out a way for him to wear it (minus the mask) for an All Saints Day party.

| | Thanks and all it took was two sheets of foam core poster board, duct tape, ribbon, thin plastic poster board, one old plastic "army" helmet and a karate uniform.
That and about 40 hours of labor. I got the plans on a Society for Creative Anachronism web site and the kid wants to make the rest of the outfit between now and next summer so he can wear it to the Renaissance festival.

Did she come up with that on her own?

| | Kind of.
We were shopping for ideas for her Halloween costume at Goodwill and I saw the dress and said, half-jokingly, "you could be Cinderella."
She looked at the dress and said, "I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing."
Then we both looked at each other and smiled.

| | LOL! Some great costumes!
I flew to NY for my first new job business trip, while Brian got to stay home and give out candy. We never had Trick or treaters in FL, and now that we did, I missed them. | |
