No, I'm NOT talking bulemia. I'm talking about the start of the new year - out with the old to make room for the new and all that stuff. I was thinking of doing a mini-challenge for the next seven days to "take care of all family business" as it were and prepare for the new year with a clean slate. I'm thinking a different thing a day - some things domestic, some things health, some things organization-related. And any time I try to do something like this, I find that if I'm doing something with the rest of you, I get more done! Anyone interested in joining in on a daily mission for a week? (Short, 'cause I know not everyone has off or is free from family obligations this week!)

I'm not picturing big, time-consuming clean-out-the-closet-and-all-the-drawers-in-the-whole-house things - I'm thinking more like things that can be done in an hour or less, and some things that aren't necessarily physical. Of course if I post one tomorrow, it doesn't mean anyone has to do it tomorrow or they'll be kicked out of EA or anything

I need to do some things to sell the house - find paperwork and stuff.
Find new doctors and make some appts.
Go through some files and organize some stuff.
If that sort of thing counts, I'm in, but I'm still fighting this cold (almost gone, but still need lots of naps) |

I need to pay bills, organize all my pay slips for the jobs where they didn't take out taxes, and clean. Count me in. But I can't give you more than 30 minutes a day or I might combust. |

Heck, I've been purging for weeks. A huge bag or a laundry basket per week to Goodwill since the first of December.
And I've signed up for a Body Pump class at the Y starting in January.
So yeah, I'm in for whatever you want to do, MJ.

I've started. I spent 8 hours yesterday taking down the tree and purging a few things. I feel good! I've got a few more spaces that need purging but it is all good!

I literally caught the trash collector in the driveway and tossed more in the back of the truck while he laughed at me and petted the dog. Nice guy, I need to give him a New Year's package next week.
I have now finished the laundry room, and we're still making progress in what will now be referred to as the spare room (FKA Jeremy's room). I have two huge bags to take to Goodwill today.

No, we just have been in the process of moving him to Bree's old room for the last 3 months. He outgrew his bunk bed (I swear he grows 6" overnight..) and he's been sleeping in there for quite a while. So instead of making a mess in one room that I could close the door, he's been making one in both rooms, and I can't work on jewelry when he's sleeping. Hence the swap.
Plus, he's got toys in there that Drew probably wouldn't even play with. We needed to force the issue to get rid of some of it, and the move made sense.
It probably would have been easier to just give him away.
