| | LOL.
I'm hoping to get a pic tonite when I get home. Need daylight to photograph. Even though the ring is a little large, I'm really impressed with myself. The join is quite clean and strong.
Whee!!!

| | Lynn, have you done any lampworking yet? Or worked with any dichroic glass? I am drooling over the gallery at Glasshopper Patterns and they are in Portland, so I'm stopping in to get a pack of scraps the next time I'm up there. I want to try some of the pendants.

| | No, I haven't. It's on "the list" but a bit further down. I don't know why, but melting metal seems to have more appeal than melting glass! I can't wait to see what you come up with though!!!! Dichroic is AMAZING.....and I have friends who do some lampwork that is beyond realistic.
FWIW, I did post pics on the blog tonite of the rings I made. The silver rings (plain) are made from 12g wire and are size 9-10, so they are pretty big.

I've been wanting a silver thumb ring for a while (even though I've heard rumors that they mean all sorts of strange things). I'm gonna hit you up for one! |

I have NO idea what size my thumb is - 10 sounds fine.
The one with the curves that you did is really beautiful! the soldering looks so clean, and I love the hammered finish! |

| | Wow, Lynn - they are beautiful! Nice work! Adding metal work to what you have already mastered is going to be so much fun.
If I can get that bead class scheduled, I'm going to work with the dichroic glass. I bought a pendant at the Museum of Glass that I just love, thought "this doesn't look that hard to do", and look where that got me? It's really enjoyable though.

When you do it, Deb, you'll have to post pictures! |

| | So I've been playing and playing over the last month. Dan's gotten in the act and added his .02 (soldering silver is a little different from Big Deal Soldering, but not much) and it actually has helped me...I had a lot of "issues" that resulted in a lot of silver going in the scrap pile. Not a good thing when silver is over $18/oz.
A few things I've managed to not burn down the house with....
3-heart pendant - I liked this one so much I actually did two so I can keep one for myself.
A circle pendant - forgive the ucky lighting, I just did this one tonite and didn't haul out my light box
Another heart pendant - not sure what I should do with that ring in the center yet.
"My" ring...not the best job, but I love it so I wear it every day.
I've done a few other things that were keepable, but they are beyond boring. Playing with fire is FUN.....

| | My ring is not what it's supposed to be. There are supposed to be three of those swirlies on it, but I couldn't get the third one to stick. Now that I've played a bit more and changed the way I'm doing things, I'm going to try it again. It looks fine as it is, but I wanted it to have three, and I won't be totally happy until it does.
