| | Happy Leap Day! | |
We have an eye doctor appointment, which weird or no, I'm excited about. I hate glasses, but I have to wear them, and I need new frames badly. Probably a new script too.
Then we are going to IHOP (Jer's choice) for breakfast (this is his 'bribe' for an 8 a.m. eye appt on a day off from school ) and then a trip to the zoo. Maybe some shopping at Michael's and B&N tossed in for good measure.
Pizza for dinner and then I have a conference call tonite...so it should be a full, good day. I'm looking forward to having the day off from work.
How are you "celebrating"?

| | You get Leap Day off? Cool.
Same ol' same ol' around here, except we're going to try and make park day today at the extra fun park in the next town over. I hope lots of people show up - it's supposed to be partly cloudy today, but not too cold. The only problem is listening to Erin whine about how she wants to get in the little creek that runs through the park - ain't happening in 60 degree weather!
I think chicken for dinner tonight, probably, and a movie for the kids to keep them out of my hair - funnily enough, I have a conference call tonight, too.

| | Some of our company's old software broke last night around 7 or 8 pm. My office mate was in until midnight fixing it. Couldn't figure out what had happened. Nobody could log in.
When I reminded him about leap year and greenwich mean time, he nearly fell over
The software won't have a problem again tomorrow

| | I'm salaried. Unlike some places that prorate salaried people by the hour, this place is a flat rate divided into 26 paychecks. The guy in the next office is a consultant who is paid hourly. I just went over there and gave him a dirty look

| | NO! You are getting paid for today - all the other years you get an extra day pay because they like you more than they like the consultants! |

| | I'm starting an Algebra II class tonight at the Vancouver Washington campus, so I came up early and have yet to start the grading I thought I'd get done. Shane needs some math help so I invited him to come join me here (where we have two computers and a white board) but he'd rather have me stop by after class where I can hang out, watch TV, drink a beer, and answer a few math questions. Works for me. I have a surprise math lab at the Salem campus tomorrow, so I'll sleep on his couch and head down the road early tomorrow. It's a good day.

Dammit, I just realized something. I'm not getting paid to work today. | Why do you think I took the day off? Of course, I got screwed out of a vacation day to do it, but at least I didn't have to work.
We had a lovely day. Really. The weather was great, I splurged and let the kid have a few extras (like watching an IMAX movie that was pretty cool), and it was fun.
