| | Long Island Rail Road has its drawbacks, but I save on gasoline, wear and tear, time, car insurance, actual cost of car (I'm driving a '95 that I would have had to upgrade by now if I drove more than the current 5 miles a day), and blood pressure medication.

| | The blood-pressure medication is a big one. There's a hospital on the other side of the Baltimore beltway I'd love to work for, but no way on earth I'd make that drive -- not even twice a week. If the light rail went near there, I'd reconsider that, though.

| | Hubby switched to Sunoco. Still could only get $75. in his truck. $3.55. Bought about 20 gallons. He thinks it is a credit card thing with our credit card. It will let us charge a bundle, but only $75. at the pump.

| | All of our pumps shut off at $75. You then have to restart and put in your CC again. A real pain so we just usually quit at $75.

| | $3.77 at BJ's. And I was running on fumes when I got there, so it was a $38.25 fill-up for me. At least that will last me about 7-10 days given my usual driving amount - and actually longer this time, since I'm driving a rental for work from Tuesday-Friday this week.

| | I was shocked when I was in Fort Lauderdale to find that my rental car company would sell me a tank of gas at $3.25 a gallon, when it was $3.76 on the street. Sadly, I didn't think I would use that much gas, so I planned to top up the tank myself. But we actually went sightseeing, and even drove out west to the Everglades and back. Oops.

| | $59 to fill my little Subaru today. That's triple what it "should" be in my mind.
Anyone know how much gas is in the Boston area? I'm going to Boston this weekend and wondering if I should fill up here or there. $3.86 for the cheap gas here, $4.09 at the expensive place... sigh. |

We've enjoyed very cheap oil for decades. We don't get to anymore, and it's not going to get better short-term. Oil exploration world-wide is at a peak, but it'll be 3-5 years before anything comes of that, if ever.
