| | Started out a bit hectic here, but is ending quietly. The son returned yesterday for the summer, and brought home 2 of his housemates. They wanted to celebrate the year. More of the female type friends showed up last night, and they had some fun, I guess. I went to bed. The kids who were drinking (and all are over 21) just handed me their car keys. I thought that was admirable, I hadn't asked yet!!
Missy left at 5:45 AM this morning to go downtown to do a walk for Breast Cancer--the Susan J. Koman race for the cure. It was a 3 mile walk or run. She was home by noon.
Hubby made breakfast, and our guests went home to their Mom's, then hubby and I went grocery shopping while our children slept off their hectic weekend. Hubby grilled steak while I made a huge salad for dinner. It was good to be the 4 of us again.
I worked most of the afternoon on my schedule for next year, it just wouldn't work, so I put it aside. I just came back and voila a few adjustments here and there and it works!! Now I am going back downstairs to crochet and watch Desperate Housewives. What a day!!
Oh, and I did call my Mom. It was a good conversation, I actually think she knew it was me!!

| | Re How was Mother's Day??? | | We had dinner with Hubby's mom yesterday - partly because his niece was confirmed yesterday too, partly because of the BIL who won't eat on Sundays. It was nice. MIL goes in for surgery this week on her leg. We don't think she fully appreciates that she will be immobile for a while when she gets home... But it was a nice Confirmation, a nice dinner, good times.

| | Re How was Mother's Day??? | | I had a wonderful brunch with my children and their honeys and my own honey. We went to a nearby restaurant and then came back to the house and I opened a couple of gifts they got me. It rained all day and was too rainy and cold to get out and visit my mother's grave. I will save that for later in the week. Her tombstone was just installed yesterday so we can plan to plant flower beds and things soon now. My first mother's day without her. But, my kids and family really made it a nice day anyhow. |

| | Re How was Mother's Day??? | | I thought this was going to be my first Mother's Day alone! Marty went off to Nashville with Cindy and the Four Horsemen, and Gary and Sandy. Ben was called to Toronto at the last minute for something job related. Michelle and family aren't coming to visit until NEXT weekend, and J and Chris were in Hamilton. But J and Chris had plans to come here, so I had company at church this morning for a nice Mother's Day service, and came home with a vase of carnations. Yesterday we ate out at a Pho (Vietnamese noodle) restaurant, and the food was delicious as usual. So instead of feeling lonely because I decided to stay home and not go to Nashville, I had a nice weekend.

| | Re How was Mother's Day??? | | Quiet most of the night at work. I came home, admired my mother's day gifts. The traditional one, a framed picture of the kids. Bob took it Friday night. I hear there are several very funny versions I haven't seen yet. He's promised to put those on my digital picture frame.
The older boys bought me a new monitor for my computer. Nice to have tech support here. It was installed while I was working last night.
I tinkered a while, then nap, church, out to lunch, more naps, up barely in time to call my mom before she went to bed.

| | Re How was Mother's Day??? | | Mine was pretty nice too. We kind of had the holidays revisted. Went to the IL's house, my folks were there, my MIL's 2 sisters and their hubbies were there. We spent most of the day.
A lot of the family sat down and played farkle. I have never heard of it, but the babester tried to play. I had a killer headache, though, and was hiding out in the other room for a while until the ibuprofen took hold.
It was enjoyable.

| | Re How was Mother's Day??? | | How funny - my kids learned how to play farkle this weekend, too! They learned from a professional 18th century reenactor at a local history day.

| | Re How was Mother's Day??? | | Nothing spectaculor here, but it was a nice day. Got a call from Bree, called my mom. Jeremy wanted to play football, so we ended up playing catch for about an hour. Settled in for dinner and then watched TV while the guys finished up their Man Cave out in the garage.
