| | Two days (less!) and counting down to "I do!" | | J and Chris's wedding is almost here! My sister arrived safe and sound, despite her back going out. Mom was discharged from hospital, to her assissted living apartment with her aide. Our DD is in town with our SIL and grandsons, and cooked supper for us tonight. I made four cabbages into coleslaw for the rehearsal dinner. Plans for the wedding are coming together. Next week, after everyone goes home/leaves on honeymoon, I'm drinking heavily. (Brian's chocolate martinis sound delicious.)

| | Re Two days (less!) and counting down to "I do!" | | The wedding rehearsal was fun! The rehearsal dinner was scrumptious, and relished by all. Cindy served us wonderful pulled pork, pinto beans, greens, "dump cake" and pies, and others of us added sticky rice, green papaya salad, and coleslaw. We all ate and ate.
The wedding went very smoothly. We only lost two bridesmaids...temporarily. Their ride went to the wrong park to pick them up after picture taking, but they were retrieved safely. Everyone enjoyed the wedding. There were so many pictures taken during the ceremony that you would have though Princess Di had returned.
Everyone enjoyed the reception hugely. There were nine courses of Chinese food, starting with fish maw soup with crab, and ending with crispy chicken. (We didn't think of any way to warn the guests, who were gob smacked when the food kept coming and coming.) We provided Elderflower Presse, a nice, tart, non-alcoholic beverage, to go with the surprisingly tasty house red. There was much domestic beer, and dancing to live music provided by family friends and relatives of the bride. All in all, a huge sucess. In a few hours, the happy couple will be on their way to a honeymoon in Fort Lauderdale, where they will stay three blocks from the beach.

| | Re Two days (less!) and counting down to "I do!" | | Helen, can I post my pics here?
It really was lovely. I have to say, the ring bearer was extraordinarily handsome, too.
Poor #4, he almost fainted during the wedding, it was really hot where he was standing. And the little flower girl was just adorable, but woulnd't sprinkle any of her flowers, so #4 tried to help her by taking a small handful. She became upset, grabbed the flowers away from him, and then tucked them into her basket. Too funny!
all in all, it was a gorgeous wedding, and there were nearly more photographers than guests! |

| | Re Two days (less!) and counting down to "I do!" | | Cindy, please, by all means, post your pictures here. That way I'll get to see them!
And, ya know, I wondered why the flower girl had a full basket of petals after the ceremony. But she hadn't gotten to practice with them, so maybe she thought she should keep them in the basket. Wasn't she lovely? And she's only eight or nine.
