crazy weather

Last evening the sky got dark and the winds came in. Incredibly. I am Plant sitting my friend's tomato plants and they are in clay pots. All the pots went over. Missy and I scrambled to get all to safe spots, and out of the wind on my deck. Then it rained, briefly.

I went out this morning to water, and all is ok. One of my plants is slightly uprooted, but my friend's are all ok!! But it is going to hot and sticky today. Supposed to be like this for a while. Ugh.

Our summer has been non-existent. Between the constant storms and goofy temps, it's just been strange.

Yesterday I left the office a few minutes early because it looked like it was going to hit any second. As I left, walking out with another employee, we both commented on the approaching clouds. She said "I hope I get home before it rains!" and I replied "I hope I get to my car before it rains!" It started sprinkling, we started walking faster, and I no sooner closed my car door (understand, this is about a 30 second time period) and the sky opened. Difficult to see rain, ya know? But by the time I got home, it was completely dry, not a drop in sight!

Today is supposed to rain (surprise, NOT) and only be a high of 80. I would like to take a day off and take Jer and a friend to the pool, but it's been so spotty, I hate to plan it!

Well, it is supposed to be 96 here today. I am considering the pool.

101 here with the heat index. I'm going to go look at dogs. I hope it's inside, in an air conditioned area, and NOT out in a parking lot. Thank god my car is climate controlled... I'm taking a bit of a ride to get there.

Yesterday was an official record high of 107F. My temp was 122F because I cooked about 90 hamburgers at a church function and was trapped between the grill and my trailer.
