Deerfield NH tornado

Wow.

I have found out that an F2 tornado touched down in Deerfield, Epsom and Northwood New Hampshire.

Been trying to get through to my friends, but phone lines are down, still.

Saw aerial footage, flying over our old house... the forest is completely felled all around!

A woman died, their home was demolished.

If you can see this video, and you see the portion of the felled trees, my old home is somewhere in all those trees.

MyFox Boston | Raw Video: SKYFOX Over Storm Damage in New Hampshire

Wow.

Simply amazing. Thankfully, this happened while most people were at work. I can't even imagine if this had happened at night how many would have been killed or more seriously injured.

Re Deerfield NH tornado

I am ten minutes from there. The roads are mostly closed, but if you have someone you need checked on, I can probably find a way.

Re Deerfield NH tornado

How awful, and how shocking. Tornadoes aren't supposed to come to New Hampshire.

Prayers that all your friends are safe, and that you will soon be able to get in touch with them.

Re Deerfield NH tornado

I have accounted for all of my friends, thankfully.

My friend who lives on the other side of the lake you see in that video said the tornado skipped them. The lake is chock full of trees and debris... it's going to be a substantial clean up effort.

My other friend who lives up on Griffin Road was thankfully west of where it touched down.

She said it appears she hasn't been able to get down to the portion of the road where we used to live... but that the North Road houses she heard mostly have minor roof damage, but the forest between North Road and the end of her road is gone!

Thank you for your offer, Leslie. I have just one more friend I haven't spoken to, but she lives east of the damage and her receptionist on Friday said all was okay... that she wasn't in probably because, no doubt, she is helping.

I'm glad it skipped you! I thought you lived closer to the Mass border!

It's been quite a week for you New Englanders!

we've been having more and more tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and mudslides here over the last two years as we experience climate change

Re Deerfield NH tornado

Wow. This is an aerial shot of my old home. It is on the bottom left.

http://www.lakesregionaerials.com/ph...008_p1026.html

Apparently, the people who bought it had a fondness for tree removal.. it used to be surrounded by trees, but it is clear they cleared the property... fortunate for them, as they didn't have any trees nearby to fall on them. It appears there is only minor roof damage... and that double wide next door wasn't there when we left!

WOWWY...

I'm so glad I moved! I would not have cut down all those trees! Look at this one!

My old house is the middle of the three at the bottom!

Talk about having a tornado run right over you!

I know! If they hadn't cleared the lot, I am sure it would have been worse.
