| | A much more appetizing invention - but almost as stupid | | Introducing the WakeNBacon! Quote:
WHAT: An alarm clock that wakes you up with the smell and sizzle of cooking bacon.
WHY: No one likes to wake up, especially by an alarm. This clock gently wakes you up with the mouthwatering aroma of bacon, just like waking up on a Sunday morning to the smell of Mom cooking breakfast. Unless you're Jewish.

| | Re A much more appetizing invention - but almost as stupid | | Which reminds me: a local politician recently misspoke when he told constituents he would "bring home the bacon" for his district. Which is predominantly Orthodox Jewish.

| | Re A much more appetizing invention - but almost as stupid | | I like the idea, but they need to find a way to make the bacon safe from bugs or animals and refrigerated so it does not spoil. |

The smell of bacon is just not appealing first thing in the morning. I know at least one man who is not going to get one of these for a gift. Bleah. |

Bacon is a product that is cured with nitrites so it's really hard to spoil. Also, during the cooking process it would be heated above 160F in order for it to cook, so any bacteria that did form would be killed.

Dan would probably LOVE one of these. Of course, he's the guy who insisted on having the toaster that also cooks his eggs.

Didn't say it wouldn't spoil, only it was hard to spoil. A matter of a few hours ain't gonna do it.
Edit* To say I should have typed nitrites instead of nitrates.

Nitrates, Nitrites.
Tomato, Tomahtoe.
And who says you have to EAT the bacon when you get up...maybe you just feed it to the dog.
