The wedding was lovely and a good time was had by all. I didn't have nearly enough time to talk to all the guests (about 150 of them) but I got around to most of them.
The furthest travel award goes to relatives of the bride who traveled from Korea for 2 weddings in 2 weeks -- a very exciting time for the bride's family, indeed. They'll be around for about another 2 weeks.
The biggest almost-oops award goes to the groom, who had to call his mom to bring him his passport this morning. Thank goodness he checked before he left town!
My painfully shy oldest son sat or stood near the head table for over half the reception, then one of the bridesmaids managed to drag him out on the dance floor. I had to promise him it would only be one dance. She didn't. He had a blast and surprised his friends by actually having a pretty good sense of rhythm and picking up the dances very quickly. That bridesmaid has a boyfriend, but she has female friends, too. She told Dan that she's on a mission to match up his brother.

| | The photographer dropped off 3 CD's of pictures today -- and Bob used 2 cameras before the ceremony and during the reception. I made him sit still during the ceremony. It nearly killed him, but he did.
He's color-correcting and cropping the pictures - and otherwise enhancing them by removing things like exit and restroom signs. Can we say OCD? I can't complain. They were great pictures to begin with and they'll be amazing when he's done.
In the mean time, I've opened a facebook account under my real name and if you follow the links to my d-i-l's page, you should be able to see pictures. I may be able to sneak onto Bob's computer after he falls asleep and post some myself.

| | I got some pictures uploaded to facebook. Bob's not finished with them yet, but only because he's a perfectionist.
This is supposed to be a public link, so everyone should be able to see the pics These are from the reception. Bob didn't get to use his camera at the service, but I'll post some of the pictures our photographer friend took there soon.

| | Judy - it looks beautiful! The bride and groom are a great looking couple!!! (even when they have cake on their faces!). Did the cake knife break?
Looks like everyone had a great time - you certainly looked like you were having fun on the dancefloor!

Okay, you've got to explain the bridesmaid, groomsman, and the garter.

It's so lovely! Can't wait to see more!!! | They planned the cake smashing bit for weeks and Dan very wisely had his goatee trimmed professionally to a shorter than usual length for the occasion.
The knife snapped. They didn't know that there were plastic supports between the layers of the cake, so they just pressed harder when they hit resistance. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen at a cake-cutting.

Okay, you've got to explain the bridesmaid, groomsman, and the garter. | I take it you're talking about the second picture where she's putting in on him. I've never seen that done before, but the DJ apparently thought it would be funny. He was MUCH more reluctant to let her put the garter on him than she was to have it put on her. Probably because she's only 16.

Then explain those tennies on the bride and groom. Too funny! | That's the latest fad in wedding wear around here. Most brides apparently get white, but Jeanne and Dan wanted the colors. They're special order and come with the wedding date embroidered on the side.
They wore them during the service, too. The priest who officiated made a point of saying "Don't let the goofy shoes fool you. These are young people who are very serious about their faith." The priest has known them for years since they work with the parish youth group and confirmation program.
