Go 'way, Fay!

We're getting hit with the edges of Fay tonight. Eek! So far the sirens have gone off twice, but both warnings were actually for just a bit away from us - close enough to hit the sirens, but we weren't in the worst of it. We're under tornado watch til 3 AM. It's going to be a looooong night...

The worst so far is that part of our deck roofing is peeling away - I hope it makes it through the night! Whoever built it put a tin roof on it, and it's the interconnected strips. The wind got in and is slowly peeling back the middle like a can of sardines. The trailer itself is pretty steady, though, and I *think* we're through the very worst, but the rest of the night is still going to be very windy and rainy.

Re Go 'way, Fay!

I hope that you are through the worst of it. Sounds like Fay dumped a LOT of rain. I know there are a lot of tornado warnings/watches, but I didn't realize the winds are still that strong!

Re Go 'way, Fay!

Scary stuff. Hopefully not too much damage to the roof and none to the rest of your home.

Re Go 'way, Fay!

You must have weathered this storm. Seems Fay made her mark despite not even being a hurricane.

Re Go 'way, Fay!

Fay was a Godsend to us in North Georgia and Tennessee. We were in a severe drought and have gotten up to 6 inches of rain in some parts. We had an all night soaker last night. There is some flooding and downed power lines in the metro Chattanooga area, but nothing we can't cope with to get the rain. It's starting to fade and move on out. I wished it had stayed here for a few days. I know Florida got hammered, but we didn't see anything that bad.

Re Go 'way, Fay!

We were up again last night - 2:30 AM the sirens went off again. Sigh. We were supposed to get a lot more rain today, but most of it has moved off. We did get a sprinkle this afternoon. And yes, it's been a big help here in AL with the drought, although it hasn't been nearly as bad this year as it was last year.

Jon, where do you hail from? I was born in GA.

Re Go 'way, Fay!

I've lived most of my life in the Chattanooga, TN area. That is pretty much near the Georgia state line. It is IN Georgia according to Georgia politicians, but they just want to steal our river water.
I lived in Savannah, GA for three years.(while in the Air Force)

Re Go 'way, Fay!

I hope Fay does not do to much damage to anyones property but remember as long as you are all safe things can be repaired.
I am thinking of you all tonight.

Re Go 'way, Fay!

Just a lot of rain at our house in Birmingham, thank god. I didn't want to have the paint redone yet again...
