...please let me know! Erin wants a "bug" party for her birthday this year, and I'm trying to find candy bugs for the cupcakes, sides and favors. You'd think this would be the perfect time of year to find candy bugs, wouldn't you? But all I've found so far are spiders. If anyone spots any bug candies (variety is good, but not required) while Halloween shopping, will you give me a holler and let me know what you found and where? Thanks!
I'm going to make these: Insect cupcakes - Discuss Cooking Community as the main "feast" but want some candies too - I'm not making tons and tons of M&M bugs like these!

I may have to resort to online ordering, but my frugal side rebels at that.  I really wanted some of those lightning bug gummies - the dollar store has carried them for ages. Until I wanted to buy some on Saturday, and bupkiss!

I dunno about bug candies for halloween, but I know you can get 7' Christmas trees at BJ's today.

Melanie, not bug related at all, but let me know if you want any gummy rats that look like the real thing. They carry them at my dollar store :o
At my dollar store also are rubber skulls that when you squish them the eyes pop out, and they are full of red liquid, and bugs. |

Nah, we're not looking for gross-out stuff. Just bugs, which I would have thought would be easier to find IRL.

Oriental trading company has those lightning bugs and even with shipping, they tend to be cheaper than buying them at the dollar store.
