As part of my Rabbi's really wonderful sermon this Rosh Hashanah, she included some congregants submissions to her Six-Word Memoir challenge.
I hadn't heard of the
Six-Word Memoir book before the Rabbi discussed it. Apparently, it stemmed from a challenge to Earnest Hemmingway to tell a story in just 6 words.
His story:
"
For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn"
I think that's a really sad story, but that he rose to the challenge.
The book includes submissions from famous people and everyday folk and include things like:
"Not quite what I was planning"
and
"I still make coffee for two"
Some are funny, some are poignant, some are sad.
Here's a video showing some. I'll bet this group can come up with some great ones of our own.
