any interest in NCAA basketball tourney 'pool' ??

Greetings all,

Relatively new to eaforums. Been reading this 'Balls' forum and it seems much more civilized than the usual testosterone-fueled, smack-driven forums I see everywhere else. (Or maybe I've just missed those threads so far...:-))

Saw the football picks thread. I joined the YahooGroup thing and saw there were not too many who participated. But still looks like you had fun.

Any interest in doing something similar for the NCAA basketball championships ?? Would go much quicker. I don't know of anything similar on-line like the yahoogroups thing. But surely there must be.

Anyway, just thought I would say 'Hi' and jump right in. Look forward to reading much more here on eaforums.

Sleeper54

P.S. Feel free to visit the website I maintain for the fastpitch softball league my dau participates in at http://www.eteamz.com/sdmgasa

Oh yeah, we're pretty civilized here for the most part.

Yahoo does have a fantasy game for college basketball. I don't follow hoops myself, but maybe other folks here want to check it out and get a league going.

Kinda late for a league, but I would do a tourney for fun.

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

Lightbulb

A March Madness thread would without a doubt rock.
Every year at work I run a pool and get about a hundred people involved. There is nothing better than college basketball... love it love it.

So when do we start? heh.

I'm a huge fan of college basketball also. We can start this thread by talking about favorite teams, favorite players, overrated bombs, whatever. It'll be fun.

- So Where Do I Put My Thoughts?? -

Let's Get this show on the road then shouldn't we?

Someone have any ideas where we dump our brilliant predictions? Cause I gots a bunch of 'em. Well... until this officially gets goin, let me ask you this...

Who Can Stop The Big Bad Wolf - DUKE?

I figure odds are like 10 to 1 Duke is going all the way and no one is even gonna get close to beating them. (EXCEPT - maybe, if the gods are with them, Maryland come the 17th. Any wise crax about their lose to Duke 2 weeks ago by 20 gets a boot to the nose. All I have to say is they were up at the half.)

Any body have a guess as to who'll be in the final four? Kinda tricky to guess without seeing where in the country everybody lands for the tourny, but hey I'll give it a shot...

Duke
Kansas
Cincinnati
Maryland

ACC is strong again this year (minus North Carolina and Virginia (who'll go to the sweet 16 but'll melt eventually), but I spose Cinci is coming on the past week or two, no?

Bring on March Baby!

Me Myself & I will...

will cheer on Maryland as they beat Virginia - boy that was a barn burner - they pulled the clutch threes out of their back pocket there in the end. Shheew!

Oh and of course Duke dismantled North Carolina 87-58. Can't believe they even showed that game on ESPN.

You guyz still thinkin about doing a March Madness pool here? Or at least a March Madness discussion board?

Yup, it was a great road win for the Maryland Terps @ UVa. Both teams played very well with a lot of grit. But I am extremely proud of the way the Terps came back to win at arguably one of the toughest arenas to play in.

Cincy has been a surprise team, but who have they played? I don't deny their talent, but a #4 ranking is a little inflated. BUT, if Cincy can win @ Marquette, then they are perhaps a truly great team.

The Duke-UNC game was a joke. UNC was pitiful, but I admire the fans for standing up to their Basketball team, especially in times of adversity. This shows real class.

Anyway, interested in doing a March Madness tourney pool, but not sure how we'll organize it...

You do have a point...

in regards to Cinci... we will see. Everytime I've seen them play it hasn't been fantastic teams but man are they tenacious this year. Dunno... we'll see here soon though.

I would be happy to accept your guesses -cough- I mean your sure picks and then keep track of how everyone is doing throughout the tourny. Then I could post the point totals everyday or every other day. I am going to be tracking like 100 people's charts at work, a few more online wouldn't be a big deal. Or we could just chat up the games if you guys want. I just need to see who'd be interested.

I have always loved trying to figure out who is going all the way but that is just me. And I am not sure how many we are gonna get here... But then again if its just 3 or 4 that'd still be fine.

You called that one Shadow... great call. I guess Cinci really isn't all that. Specially since they havn't been beatin that badly in years.

MARYLAND/DUKE SUNDAY!!!

This promises to be the biggest non-dance, non-championship game of the year, I bet ya... bet ya... bet ya. The game is scheduled for 1:00 eastern I do believe. Make sure you don't miss this run and gun dynamic duo.

I think - (regardless of the lack of interest) - I will throw together a thread for the NCAA Tourny. I spose we will just mostly talk about the upcomming games and rehash the brilliance after its over... but I'd be open to everyone sending me their charts. I could then update the thread with who's winning.

YES/NO?
